The e4 is locked to Verizon with varying degrees of success reported at unlocking with a code and using on other networks. The camera is 8MP/ 5MP so is identical.

Nope. If you check brickseek you may see the $35 price at some stores. Online it shows the $149 at most locations around me, but BS shows $35 (this is typical from my experience with walmart.com...

I believe the official 7.1 is confirmed and being pushed out. It is also bootloader unlockable and has decent custom Rom support so you be able to keep updating for a while even if official updates...
