If you live where K band is not used (e.g. California) or you drive on freeways only, get the R1. Otherwise, R3. GPS will help reduce noise from K band a lot.

LRD950/DFR7 are weaker on 33.8 Ka. This frequency is the most common in certain locales (e.g. WA). R3 is in general much better performing than LRD950/DFR7, not only on 33.8.
