14' back??? Get rid of the TV. Get a pull down projection screen, get a projector, problem solved, you can go bigger than 65" easily.

I would put the TV at the height of the soundbar then add a shelf above it and put DVDs or something at the edge so you could not tell there was an inset for a smaller TV.

It should look cool because of the float effect, but I'm nuts on efficiency, so my mind instantly goes to "wasted space behind" when I look at it, even though one sitting on the dresser would all but...

Just make sure your curtains are blacked-out or you have blinds if you have windows around. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't put a projector in a well-lit room, unless you have curtains and such.

They make 2 different kinds of projectors (I'm sure more than that, but you get the point) One for well lit rooms, the problem is that they have poor black levels. So in a well lit room, you can...

Have you taken a measurement to ensure it wouldn't interfere with the light switch there?

Where did you get the dresser? I kinda like that look. Elsewise, I agree with the guy that said portrait mode.

You should mount your new 65" TV in portrait mode instead of landscape mode to make efficient use of the space.
