ah no, I was ahead of myself, yamaha probably has conversion too, I was originally eyeing a 2400/2500, but switched over to wanting a 3400/3500 for my dreamcast, wii and old xbox lol

Are you implying that it the Yamaha does not do analog to digital conversion for the old Wii (or whatever)? It has an RCA video input (as well as component), and it doesn't look is has any video...

The TSR 7850 is the equivalent of the RX-V685. Also the A780 is similar but comes with 3 year warranty instead of 2. Wait for Frys to put it on sale for $448 again.
