My heart belongs to F1. laugh out loud

No other races catch my fancy, other than horse races.

Spent the day doing stuff around the house. Finally got around to framing a photo, then realized I couldn't frame the other one because the mat is slightly too big. Yawn
I'm not necessarily a huge fan of racing, but I enjoy the idea of engineering and technology that goes into play. I have no idea what it's like in person, but some days I'd say WRC is favorite motorsport, except that the coverage in the US is either terrible or non-existent, and I'm not dedicated enough to follow it online shake head Doh

I enjoyed the grand am race weekend, I enjoyed F1, I assume I'll enjoy the V8 supercars for at least a day. Unlike most people, I'm not the super-competitive type, so I enjoy watching the practice days almost as much as the race proper.

on that note, I am ready to crash for the night.

g'night AMT Bye

Yawn

Bump Turtle

wasn't sure what the heck to do about tickets for the V8 race this weekend. I was looking around on Craigslist, eventually found somebody selling a weekend pass for two tickets, plus parking, for the main grandstand and the lot right behind the main grandstand (one of the few places that doesn't involve a 3/4 mile walk to your seats). It was only $100 for all of it, so I bought it.

So far I have a buddy going with me on Saturday, then I've got a CL add to sell the sunday ticket and parking pass. somebody just offered me $30, but i'll hold out for an offer at $40 or higher (listed at $50, which seemed reasonable given that parking alone is $30 without advance reservations, or $20 per day with advance ticketing)

Yawn not that much actually going on the track tomorrow, mostly practice, support qualifying at 11 and 2. Won't be in too much of a hurry to get out there and I'll probably try to leave before 4pm so that I can avoid the worst of Austin rush hour (thankfully I can sneak back to downtown from the east side along cesar chavez and avoid the I-35 mess entirely woot )

on that note, I'm headed to bed. g'night AMT Bye

Thumbup

I spent three hours today dying my hair with the same henna I've used for several years now, only to realize as I was washing it out that my scalp and neck had blistered. So no more henna treatments, guess I'll have to be a brunette for the rest of my life once this treatment fades away. I mainly do it for the conditioning, it makes your hair feel great, will have to find a good conditioning treatment to replace it. Annoyed

Bye Night ML. I'm headed to bed soon too.

Ninja long day the track. Pretty warm, got up to 92 eventually, and had a heat index around 100 Faint really hasn't been warm so far this spring, I guess those days are gone Doh
I had a good time, at least. got in 15,000+ steps, 15 flights of stairs, about 300 photos (I filled my memory card, but forgot to have a backup)

One more time tomorrow, longer day with two actual V8 supercars races of ~27 laps each Whee

Doh Just realized I didn't put my fitbit on after showering this morning.

We have a new four channel Tivo and just got it set up tonight. Had to get all our season passes moved over and move a bunch of shows we haven't watched yet to the new one as we only have the one TV and didn't want to watch the shows on the old DVR via the computer/monitor.

Still have some tweaking to do as it doesn't know our likes and dislikes yet, under sugestions it keeps taping news shows and kids shows. Although I do call DH a big kid sometimes. laugh out loud

We're going tomorrow to see Star Trek at the fancy theater, will have booze and dinner while watching the show. woot

The V8 boys aren't afraid to use a little of the ol' high curbing Whee

I plan on being nearly dead to the world by this time tomorrow nod going to be a long time. Then Sunday afternoon I have to meet some people at the viva streets festival, although I'm kinda tempted to skip it and go back to the V8 race, especially if I can't manage to sell my Sunday tickets Doh

We're headed to bed too. Breakfast in the morning then the coffee shop to do some reading, a quick run to TJ's because I'm out of salad mix then the theater and dinner/booze that evening. Whee

My grandmother would have been 100 today, she died in 2000. Of all my grandparents, I miss her the most.

Now it really is time for bed. Bye

Watched the Preakness, should have had some money on the race, the horse I picked won.

We went to see Star Trek tonight, it was pretty good. Not the best of the bunch but pretty good.

EEK! how in the world is it this late already? Faint

another fairly busy day. Was on sixth street for two hours this afternoon, for the Viva Streets event Whee I've only started to go through my V8 supercars photos Doh I should take less photos (I always say that, lol)
I've already deleted 240 junk photos, at least. I suspect that by the time I delete the pure junk I'll have cut it almost in half, I was trying to do a lot of panning shots with slow shutter speeds, and I have way more failures than success from those nod

Tell me about it. When I saw your post, I thought, 'wow, is it 9:00 already?' Then I looked at the clock. EEK!

We went out for coffee and hit the REI sale. DH didn't find what he wanted but I used his 20% off coupon to buy a fleece jacket. My old jacket, which was a bit big to begin with is now huge on me since I've lost some weight.
