Based on past releases, is it best to wait for the next gen of comparable level is released in Q1 (7900x) ?
It's no one looking to buy the 5950x? I want to max this mobo out but never hear anything or see many deals listed.

If you are gaming and have amd already then get 5800x3d as best budget option. If you are building brand new with ddr5 then wait for 7000 series x3d which can be upgraded in 2025-2026 to whatever x3d chip.

It runs very cool as well, something that neither intel or amd is able to do with their bleeding edge gen. elite am4 boards are also way down in price as well.
I really love mine and wouldn't switch to 7900x even if it were a straight swap.

5900 is overkill for gaming. For gaming, all you need is 5600 and a decent GPU

Yes, I'd love to see the 5950x on sale again below $475, but I'm not so sure it will happen. The lack of demand, due to the pricing of the 7000 series and components, has driven demand to 5000 series upgrades instead. I can tell you that the Microcenter closest to me had 28 5950x in stock up to the day the 7000 series launched, when stock went down to 4. It's back to 16 now, but I believe that people are choosing to max out their current system rather than pay a steep price to upgrade to the next gen right now.
For gaming "right now" , but wait until you see the recommended specs of games launching next year! In two to three years, it will be a very different landscape... I wouldn't build a PC today with less than 8 performance cores for gaming, unless you are on a seriously tight budget.
I don't think the 5950x is worth it at the $530-$550 price tag. If you already have an AM4 board and DDR4 ram, a 5900x upgrade is practically a no-brained at this price, and you can just wait it out until AMD launches AM6!
