This one has one full hdmi and one audio only one.
Any out there?
I do still have an ancient Sony blu-ray player with ancient firmware that I keep around to play old stuff.
I have to large of a collection to just be ok with some movies I'm able to watch vs not being able to at all. It is amazing player when it works.
I bit the bullet and just bought the Panasonic UBP820 and so far the last couple of days it has played my 4K movies like Spider-Man No Way Home, Bravehart and The Dark Knight with out any issues. The PQ is a step up too so I think if can get that or the 420 which is way cheaper but don't have DV, will be the better purchase. I have mine connected to a 77 Inch C1

You can turn off DV on the 820.
So grab several DV disc and compare DV vs the Optimizers processing of HDR.
You'll find out if the extra money is worth the difference.

I would suggest selling it since it holds it resale value very well, especially if you can include the original receipt.
Not much different today, these players use modulated laser light. Random dust particles, tobacco, or other smoke in the air, cooking error and smoke throughout the house, can, and will, affect your electronics. Ditto for dust on the motherboards, some of it is metallic! Tiny tiny short circuits.
Try cleaning up the optical sensor, and, blowing dust off the motherboard. Usually just 4-6 screws keep the cover on, now get out a couple of Q-tips and $2 in alcohol. Hard to screw things up, may fix things, may not, but if it's driving you nuts, worth the 20 minutes it might take to try this.

Dumb question maybe… I have an OLED (sony). Like many people I tend to watch movies via streaming services (prime, Disney +, etc). I also have a Sonos arc and sub for audio. Am I not maximizing my technology capabilities for audio and or picture by using streaming? Is it always best to have a blue ray player and watch the discs to get the best of the best? Let me know as this stuff sometimes is confusing to me. I always think by streaming I am getting top notch. If someone has a solid tv and theater system do they tend to always watch movies using blue ray player?
