Metro by T-Mobile 180 days unlocking policy![metrobyt-mobile.com]
180 days after activation, your phone will be eligible to unlock! you don't need keep the service for 180 days, once your phone got activated one time, after 180 days, your phone is eligible to unlock!
Unlock eligibility requirements
The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
One hundred eighty (180) days must have passed since the device's activation date.
Metro confirmed multiple times that the deciding factor of your phones unlock date is whether it was activated before May 1st (180) or after may 1st (365), interesting to see how it plays out because people in here have the terms stating that its 180 days until unlock after may 1st.
Any other information about unlocking is fake or scam!
Do not waste your money to get third party unlocking service ! it won't work.
The MOTO Stylus 5G 2023 has *6* GB RAM, not 4gb, per the Metro website. And assuming its the same phone that shipped last time, it has eSIM support as well....

But might have to fight for that...

The nice thing about all iPhones is that there is zero Metro bloatware.
I'm still waiting to see if an S23 FE comes back in stock. It's the best Android phone Metro sells. Feels like a near flagship and supports Dex which is very nice.
Why not just to in store to get this phone? But only if you want it bad enough as they do charge for the $25 activation fee and I believe they also charge tax for the phone at retail price and not at $50 which is what you will be paying for due to the promo. This is what I was told over the phone.

They charge a lot more instore than online. also Google Voice ports in-store they make no commission so they won't let you use it.
$50 Port In for phone
$65 Plan
$20 Activation
$10 Sim Card
$30 Case/Screen Protector
$45 tax on $600 pre-discounted price
Just received my 03/05 order of iPhone 12. Ordered another one after activation. Was going to order a third one but it said I wasn't eligible. It turns out this promotion is limited to two per household. So wasted a $3 GV unlocking fee Wish I had read the fine print carefully. Could somebody update the wiki?
The plan charge for my second iPhone 12 order was only $30. That's less than $160 per device - not bad. Plan to trade them in for two iPhone 16/Pro in the fall.
Totally new to Metro (though I'm on TMO postpaid). Is using the phone number (the first one?) the only way to access my account? Since I'm going to let each line expire after the first month, does that I mean I will lose access to my account as I won't be able to receive the code?
Edit: never mind about the wiki part - the original post did quote the original terms including the limit. My bad.

Activated my second iPhone 12 today and now the "add a line" shows up again on my account. An additional line is still only a $30 add on.
How did you get $30 plan for adding a line? I'm getting $40 plan whenever I try to add a line for the iPhone.
Put the Metro SIM in the phone, no signal is fine, most of us didn't maintain service past the 1st month. You need to turn on WiFi so the phone can go to Metro's unlock database and gets its unlock status updated.
Thanks I got it to work after clearing cache for unlock app.

Once you receive the second phone you just ordered and activate it, you should be able to order the third shortly after.
has anyone ported from tracfone? each time i enter my account number, what i think my pin is, and my zip, tracfone generates and texts me a new port out pin. Is that happening to others?
No problem with Tracfone VZ number -- the port out pin is good for 7 days
I generated it just once then used it on Metro order without issue -- no problem finishing activation 2 days later once the phone arrived
[1] my old number 111-111-1111 --> ported out for this deal to metro and phone activated [I can see that number on the phone and internet, outgoing call works
[2] I went ahead and delete 111-111-1111 from google account (only delete button available) assuming number is ported and now to get new one I have to delete this etc
[3] Now my google account has 222-222-2222
Are you suggesting delete "222-222-2222" from google account and reclaim the old number 111-111-1111....
When you say you can reclaim it....does that mean you paid another $3 to reclaim the old number?
If you delete 222-222-2222, you will not get a new GV number, but you can reclaim one of the two old numbers. The reason is Google only allows deleting & getting a new number once per year.
I have a question about the GV number. When you delete your current GV number and then gets a new one. Does Google require the real mobile number for verification with the new GV number?
you should receive the email to remind of you to activate , one click activation link in the email, no need to open the package .
or you still not doing anything, on day 21 your device will get activated anyway.
Hey, I got my iphone 12 today. Haven't opened the box and haven't received an email yet. But I went to the Metro website to see what it would say in "track my order." It said I was ready to active, so I clicked the activate button and it got this:
