12-Pack ZeroWater Replacement Water Filters + ($20 Kohls Cash) for $112+FS (using 30% Kohls code so YMMV)

$111.99

ZeroWater products are currently on sale at Kohls, which isn't really a slickdeal.
But if you're one of the lucky Kohls members who were granted a 30% code (instead of just 20% or 15%), then you can apply that here (so check your app or snail mail or email).

Every $50 spent will earn $10 Kohls Cash which is redeemable March 31 - April 21.

The 12-Pack is the best deal but the 8-Pack is a decent deal if 12 is too many for you to stock up on. The 4-Packs and 2-Packs are not really worth it.

Carbon ('activated carbon' aka AC) filter largely filters organics and chemicals, things that make the water taste bad. It is only one stage of the filter design, with the DI beads the final stage, iirc. The DI stage is ultimately impacted by the quality of feed water reaching it (sound familiar?), so improving the mass of AC before the final DI stage will improve the overall efficiency in these cases. You simply have to start somewhere, and feed water from a used 'sour' filter would still be an improvement for the cleaner filter over using original tap water, considering the 'sour' water will get further processed by the new AC bed in the newer filter.
gotcha

We will start doing that

I think that's a subjective question like if you asked if Pepsi is better than Coca Cola. Also, Brita seems to have multiple different filter versions [brita.com] which filter out different contaminants.

I personally prefer ZeroWater over Brita because ZeroWater filters do reduce total dissolved solids (TDS) to zero, hence its name. I personally tested it but you can also search online like this cnet article - https://www.cnet.com/home/kitchen...-compared/

This Consumer Reports article (updated Feb 2, 2023) [consumerreports.org] also says that during their test of ZeroWater vs Brita, they confirmed that ZeroWater filtered out lead while the Brita didn't. Since there are no safe levels of lead, I feel the ZeroWater wins over Brita, regardless of any other metric like convenience or price.

That's a dumb analogy it's not Pepsi vs Coke…Brita does not filter out as much as Zero water. The comparison is like wearing a regular cloth mask vs a full face respirator with organic, acid and p100 filter.

It is better. The water tastes great, but the filters are really expensive! I just ordered these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5C5T1A (Generic filters). It would be more helpful if I had tried them and could leave a review! https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif The Kohl's price is comparable to these.
Bad reviews on that if you filter by date.

Just use Elite version of the Brita filter which filter lead. The model CR tested just does not filter lead.

Never purchased zero water, is this suppose to be a better water filter compared to britA?

I use both: first brita and then zero. Helps the zero filter last longer. I still have 50 zero filters from the coupon and target deal two years ago.

They don't expire I assume? I bought a set off Facebook marketplace once and there was something wrong with most of them. Also I would love a code if someone has one to spare. My mother swears by these and I want to surprise her with these.

Those are two different types of filters. The brands should not be compared that way.

One of the Brita filters (Elite) does filter out lead. Now, I don't know what the TDS is for the Elite filter is, but my understanding is that it is comparable to the ZeroWater filters.
