Just so everyone know, there are three primary types of portable filters: 1) hollow fiber (removes bacteria and sediment), 2) activated carbon (removes toxins and chemicals), 3) electroabsorption (filters almost everything). This Britta bottle is only an activated carbon filter which mostly just makes water taste better by removing things like chlorine, but definitely cannot filter lake water. For this price it's a good option if your just wanting to make tap water a little better. If you want a better filter than look into Epic Water filters, but they're quite a bit more expensive but worth the price imo.

I have one of these and eventually stopped using it. They are extremely hard to get water through at a satiating pace.

Glass or stainless. Avoid Plastic. So no BPA in this one but a bunch of other acronyms we have yet to denounce. Invest in an RO system that will remove the rest of the stuff and use a simple glass bottle.

Is the RO system itself made of plastic? Yes. I have nothing smart to say about that.

I agree. You're not sipping the water ...you're sucking it out of the straw.
