For those on the fence about upgrading from old gen CPU: this is all you need to change and al else can remain the same. Ideally you should swap out the power supply unit but that is completely optional. If you have upgrade in mind, this is a really cheap way to get ready for a graphic card upgrade, all the way into 4090 and possibly more. Sure, it will leave "performance on the table" that more money would grab, but I am reaching out to those who are so budget sensitive even $100 more will cause ginormous stress.
Sorry, was my first post! Will remember to do so in future.
I should have also mentioned that this CPU is a "F" version meaning a separate graphic card is needed to run this CPU. "K" means unlocked and overclocking compatible but such activity is best left to hardcore performance optimizers. Take it from intel that they do more QC testing to release unlocked K versions that can operate under hotter temperature, stress etc so overall you are getting a "better lot" than standard CPU without the "K". However, this is not a CPU you want to overclock as there is far little to gain overclocking an i5 than i7 or i9. Always snap a photo of the numbers on CPU box before throwing away- FPO as "Batch#" and the ATPO as "S/N" on the box of your CPU for RMA purposes.
pretty amazing budget kit
Some gamers including me may want an integrated GPU for their second monitor to ensure that gaming performance on the first monitor is not compromised.

you could at least put MicroCenter in the title so people know it's going to be in store only

To bad it's the F processor (no eGPU). Amazing deal for gamers that will add GPU though.

I would love to see some stats on this. I'm assuming you plug secondary monitor into motherboard?
I am hoping to do a computer build for a golf simulator in the not to distant future. Based on these packages, are you pretty much (from a hardware perspective) left needing a ssd, gpu, power supply and case?

Correct. In a addition to that a CPU cooler. It doesn't look like this CPU comes with one.

Yes, I got this package. It does not come with a CPU cooler, but there are good ones like Cooler Master that only costs $16. Contains thermal paste too! So long as you are not going to overclock they work amazing.
