Dell might have the best price we've ever seen for a prebuilt gaming PC equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. Right now you can get a Dell XPS gaming PC with this coveted GPU for only $2294.99 shipped after a 10% off coupon code "10OFFCLEAR". RTX 4090 GPUs are currently difficult to find at MSRP; right now, a 4090 GPU on Amazon sells at a $300-$500 markup. If this is the GPU you really want, you will definitely save money by getting this prebuilt PC like this one instead of going the DIY route.

If the GPU is worth the $1600 MSRP (it's not, unless you are making money with the GPU, but that's where the market is currently), that puts the rest of the computer at $700. That is assuming you can buy a 4090 for MSRP, which isn't possible very often. You're looking at maybe $1800 minimum.

With current prices, you can build a comparable machine for about $2600 (plus money for Windows 11, a keyboard, and mouse). Dell's offering saves you about $300 over this:

Intel Core i7-13700 2.1 GHz 16-Core Processor
ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 72.8 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
ASRock B760M-H/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Crucial CT2K8G48C40U5 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR5-4800 CL40 Memory
TEAMGROUP MP33 512 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
MSI GAMING TRIO GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card
Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower Case
Deepcool PX1000G 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Total for that build with current prices is $2636.75.
I used to be a builder, now I'd go pre-made. Time > Money
some say this is ugly, but the RGB puke on every "gaming" PC looks ugly to me. This is a good deal for what it is. Can't build it cheaper.

Did you forget people can sell their old PCs to recover costs like every freaking normal person would?
Shipping a fragile brick tends not to be worth the effort.

Debating between this one and the Costco one in another post, is the price worth the upgrade for gaming in 4K- would also need too up the SSD to 1TB on the Dell

I only want to play old games and do AI development (I need the VRAM), so this setup and modest appearance seem ideal for me. The only thing keeping me from hitting 'Buy' are these old dead Dell computers sitting next to me. The proprietary mobo and PS have me nervous.

I just got the email that mine shipped!

13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900K processor (24-Core, 32MB Cache, 3.0 GHz to 5.4GHz)

NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 4090 24GB GDDR6X

32GB DDR5, 1x32GB, at 4800MHz; up to 64GB (additional memory sold separately)

512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive

They wanted too much to increase the ram and nvme so Amazon has already delivered the Samsung 990 Pro 4 TB and another stick of 32 GB ram.

FedEx says delivery won't be until Monday https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...t-rolleyes.gif
Let me know how it runs, thermals wise too. Thank ye kindly.

I'm confused because in another post you said:

"I put my last XPS machine in a NZXT case, upgraded the power supply for an upgraded video card. Upgraded..."

So you didn't just "upgrade my PSU in my last system to a 1000w without cooling modifications"...you put the guts in a new case (why?) and then added a PS and "hungrier GPU"???

Hopefully that "hungrier GPU" is a 4090, else I have no idea why you even thought you had a reason to have an opinion (to quote yourself).
Bro, my last XPS was about 8 years ago, so no it wasn't a 4090. I upgraded nearly everything but the motherboard and cpu over that time. The psu may have died or wasn't strong enough, don't remember. Either way, the new PSU went into the factory case. I changed cases because the case was neat looking and had more slots for storage. The point in me saying this is that there was nothing proprietary about the XPS system. This same motherboard cpu combo has been running silently for 8 years, so cooling must be ok... no?

I don't know what the chip on your shoulder is, but life is too short. Chill out a little. Not everyone has to build their own PCs. There's also times where it's not even economical if you can buy barebones and upgrade in house.

Will it accept 96GB? Specs say "up to 64GB", but I'm not sure if that's an actual limitation or just the max they offer as a configuration.
96GB works. No bios update nèeded.

I added a 4tb 990 ssd.

I tried to add 10gb network card but no space.

It feels light.
Happy so far.

I personally went with the i7 k for an extra $100. Just having a better binned chip seemed worth it.

Can someone help me confirm if this computer takes 5600mhz ram?I saw somewhere that that speed was only for systems with the 14th gen intel cpu. But this deal only offers 13th Gen.

I personally just like stock looks with sound dampening. Like the Fractal Design lines. The RGB bling has always looked ugly to me. The best I ever did was a white light (old bar ones) at the top and bottom of a windowed Lian Li from like 2004.
