Product Name: | Turf Builder Triple Action1 11.31 lbs. 4,000 sq. ft. Lawn Fertilizer, Weed Killer, Crabgrass Preventer |
Product Description: | Scotts Turf Builder Triple ActionI provides three benefits in one bag. This 3-in-1 formula kills and prevents listed weeds, all while feeding and strengthening your lawn. It kills listed broadleaf weeds like dandelion and clover, and prevents crabgrass for up to 4 months. It also prevents barnyardgrass, fall panicum, foxtail, and annual bluegrass. Scotts Turf Builder Triple ActionI is for use on Bahiagrass, Centipedegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, Bermudagrass, Tall Fescue, and Fine Fescue. Apply when dandelions are actively growing. For spring application, apply when daytime temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 80°F and before the 3rd or 4th mowing. A fall application may be made to control fall-germinating winter weeds and cool season perennial weeds. Make sure your grass is wet from dew or sprinkling before applying, as this helps particles adhere to weed leaves to produce the best results. We recommend using a Scotts spreader to apply this product. For Scotts broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 ¼. For Scotts drop spreaders, use a setting of 6. After 24 hours, water the lawn to wash particles onto the soil to prevent the germination of grassy weeds. One 11.31 lb. bag covers 4,000 sq. ft. |

For cool-season weeds, which include types like dandelion and chickweed, the ideal time for treatment is in the fall, when these weeds are actively growing and preparing for winter. For warm-season weeds, like crabgrass and nutsedge, the best time to apply weed and feed is during the spring or early summer, when these weeds start their growth cycle.
The timing of application is also important throughout the day. It's recommended to apply weed and feed early in the morning when there is still dew, as this helps the granules stick to the weed leaves, or after watering your lawn. However, avoid application during the heat of the day or late evening, as this can reduce effectiveness due to evaporation and reduced plant activity.
Additionally, make sure the product is suitable for the type of grass and weeds in your yard, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best results and to avoid damaging your lawn.

Agreed. Best strategy to apply this is to do it early morning when the grass is covered in dew. This will save you from having to manually water the lawn.

While you wait for the soil test, get some quick release nitrogen as your grass grows then top off with the fertilizer that you need from the soil test.
There are plenty available in my local HD store
Had to spread this then tested my sprinkler system for the new season. Yay

This has worked for me for the past 5 yrs. Hardly any weed and my grass is green after. Go figure.
