I worked as a remote trail worker and bathed in snow melt creeks every day, but I don't s**t on people that enjoy hot showers. I do s**t on people that needlessly gate keep the wilderness though.
I spent a few summers on fire crews and we would have killed to have access to something like this. The bigger fires had shower trailers , but a lot of the smaller ones didn't. I suppose you could call us "so Chicken" for wanting hot shower after a few days of cutting line and mopping up, but to each their own.
You are going to go through a lot of propane tanks trying to heat that much water

How would this work as a pool heater? I could attach the pool pump to the intake, discharge out into the pool. Pool is around 20k gallons. My electricity usage does not like the pool heater first of the year.

I had the same thought as you. We have 24.5k gallons and it would take roughly 13 days to heat our pool with this. Now, obviously we would not be getting the pool to 90 degrees but at the flow rate I don't think it would be worth burning through 20 lb bottles of propane for that long. My 2-cents anyway.

Many people have large propane tanks for home heat (1000gal here) and I pay less than $1.50gal for propane.

Grabbed one of these last year from amazon and it ended up having a recall as some were catching on fire. Using it as an off-grid hot shower. We pull the water from the river into an IBC tank using a separate pump, then pump/filter water from the IBC into the camplux.

Doubt it would heat a kiddy pool. We've got one at deer camp . Works well, but no no no it does not have that capacity.

You may be able to do this but you would burn through a significant amount of propane which may or may not save any money. Have you looked into a solar heater?

I tried a Helicoil? I think it was called. It would have taken too many of them to make a noticeable difference, I have a small solar array that is dedicated to a heating the pool, it produces about 1200 watts. I assumed resistance heating was the best bet, its 1200 watts and doesn't seem to make much difference either.

No- solar thermal heating will be around 3 times more efficient than solar electric resistance and a better application for pool heating imo

I already have the solar there, I don't want to move and replace every year the solar heaters every season. Being in the midwest I'd like something to supplement the existing heating solution and I can't keep them out year round.
