Walmart has 128GB Samsung Galaxy S22+ 6.6" Smartphone for Verizon Wireless (Black) on sale for $5.53/month for 36-Months w/ 0% APR (or $199.08 total). Shipping is free.
Thanks to community member ProudToBeAnIndian for finding this deal
Note, product must be sold/shipped by Walmart. New/existing customers may be charged w/ $35 activation or upgrade fee.
You may create a new account for your new device or upgrade/add a line if you have an existing account or wanting to upgrade
Its not monthly credits so please donot ask this question in comments.
You will be billed $5.53 per month for 36 months so you can pay $199 after 14 days and get your line free again. Phone will be unlocked automatically , once you activate the phone and make a call , even when you disconnect the line before 60 days
New and existing customer will be charged $35 activation fees.
Existing customer total - $199+ TAx + $35 upgrade feee
New customer ccan cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation fees. huge YMMV though . Make sure to pay off the phone before you cancel the line and make atleast one call or text to activate the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is redefining the epic standard – both for what a smartphone can do with video and for what you can communicate create and experience with it. In other words if you’ve got something to say Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus makes it possible to say anything you want with video at any time-even in the darkness of night.
In Verizon , no risk. Get the phone , activate it , Make a call, Pay off the phone ( either with in 3 days to avoid activation or after 14 days ) and cancel the line. Phone will be autoamatically unlocked.
Risk is in ATT phone which require , sim swap.
I hope this help.
This has the inefficient 8 gen 1 processor, meaning you'll have disappointing battery life. The S23+ has among the best battery life (plus it's newer, will get updates for longer, ...). So if you're not awfully tight on money, you'll likely be more pleased for longer with the S23+.
Edit: Also, the S23+ has 256 GB of storage, while the S22+ in this deal has 128 GB.
I'm going to practice on a Walmart/Verizon Samsung Galaxy a14 to make sure this works.
Trying to get the schedule right. Does this work?
- Monday (Day 0) Buy phone on Walmart website.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Phone arrives with 2-day shipping.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Activate, make a phone call and text.
- Wednesday (Day 2) or Thursday (Day 3) Call Verizon support to cancel service.
- Wait at least 60 days. You can tweak out the phone during this time, trying to uninstall bloatware, setting up an SD card, etc...
- Punch IMEI into https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...-own-phone BYOD checker. It should say the phone is unlocked and good. (It should be unlocked automatically)
- Re-activate on any USA mobile network. I'll probably go with US Mobile (A MVNO for Verizon and T-Mobile).

Easiest way to avoid any issue and make this deal work is just cancel line or port out after you activate, vzw will just bill you for the phone balance. Don't need to pay off beforehand.
Wow, a lot of people here are hating on the S22+. I used one for almost 2 years and did banking apps, texts, emails, tap to pay and made phone calls and that phone always got me through a whole day, I would charge at night. I upgraded to the S24+ but only because Samsung gave me a great trade and and the 7 year updates on the S24, otherwise I thought the S22+ was plenty fast and I was happy with it.
Personally I think this whole thing about being able to get it for $199 and having it unlocked 60 days later is a great deal if it works out. My S24+ does have better battery life and the display is a bit brighter, but otherwise not a big deal. The S22+ was well supported also, when I traded it in Samsung already pushed Android 14 out to it.
T - mobile customer here, I m checking this deal as well as the att best buy deal...now, the last 2 comments on this one says - vzw make you pay for activation & 2 months of service. In that case, this is no longer a slick.
Is there some risk with at&t/bestbuy one for like not able to unlock or cs rep not giving refund for cancellation etc???
Thoughts??

Just got a Tello sim to do the port as soon as I get it.
Just letting everyone know here. I thought this was replicable and went through with it.
The Verizon customer support as well as the chat has explicitly told me that the device is not eligible to be paid off until 5/16/2024. They'll definitely make you pay the activation fee ($40) and one month's prepaid bill of $60.
This is no longer worth it!
u need to do more research.
1000's of folks have done this.
V rep will lie
go to V corporate store . pay off with cash.
they may still tell u it is not possible.
stay firm.
let them know u know it is possible.
if still fails, try another corporate store

These 1000s of supposed people have done it in the past. I have just spent an hour at two different Verizon stores. Went through their online automated system, went through their automated phone line, and have talked to customer support. They would simply not let you pay off the phone before 1 month. It says it on their website too: "Your device is not eligible for payoff until 05/16/2024". They probably caught on to what people have been doing.
The only solution I can think of is to cancel the line and hopefully then Verizon would bill me for the phone.

Yes, I get through the process to confirm the line upgrade, then it wants a "credit application number". I'm on the phone with Verizon now but after 20 minutes of a "specialist" futzing around I am getting transferred to the credit department (on hold 5 minutes now) to see if they can get me any such number. My credit is stellar so this is super frustrating. After confirming Verizon's website price was $27.77/month, the only suggestion the "specialist" had was to go to a Verizon store on the off chance they could match the Walmart deal. So bottom line, no help...
Update: the credit department can give me a "credit application number" but only after the order goes through. But Walmart apparently won't let me order without it. Catch-22....looks like a no go for me.
2nd Update: 10 pm Pacific time, Walmart appears to have fixed the website problem I encountered, and I was able to complete the purchase. Persistence paid off!
Had the same problem for the last few days myself mate.. a tier 2 Verizon agent told me, they had made some upgrades to some of their systems, and felt like it would resolve.. either way, just placed my order a couple of hours ago. Congrats.

How jobless or desperate you have to be to persist for this deal lol.
Did it last time, in 3 days they didn't even share the account number online, asked me to wait 7 days for snail mail lol.
