I will never purchase another Orbi product and I can't recommend them for any price. I have a support ticket open with them that's been going for months with no resolution. The mesh system we have has constant drops and has to be reset every couple of days because all devices stop getting a signal.
I had the same system and the constant disconnects and satellites randomly restarting were it fun. I went with another brand and couldn't be happier.
I've owned Orbi products, and had problems with them from day one. To make matters worse, they only had 90 day support....though that may have changed. And, while this is purely subjective, I think they're the ugliest home electronic devices on the market.
I now have TP-Link Deco mesh products...been fantastic since install which was a breeze. Not one hard or soft reset in over two years.

Same I switched after years of issues. 100 seems okay though
Top comments to not buy most likely have other network issues. IMO, this is a buy now and return later situation.
Also concerning that their first instinct is to switch brands instead of dumping the very problematic mesh network that most of them likely don't need.
I'll be first in line to say Netgear has not been good for nearly 20 years, so make no reservations about that.
However, consumer mesh sucks way more, regardless of brand.
They all have concessions you have to make to get them stable. And even with a wired backhaul (which, let's face it, none of these comments would ever consider) they aren't particularly quick.
Commerical mesh solutions only get by because they have better hardware to begin with, are on a wired backhaul, and get strategically placed where no home owner would approve.
I would stay far away from Orbi. We had the RBK753S from Costco. Went through 3 units over the course of 18 months due to constant disconnects and needing to be reset. Netgear customer service is a joke. Had to file a credit card dispute because they kept charging me a parental controls subscription fee that was tied to the first unit that we returned to Costco that they wouldn't let me cancel because I didn't have the original unit it was tied to anymore. Total joke
They had that firmware update issue a year/two years ago and seems they atleast test them out now. You pit in your credit card info while setting up?
Not trying to hijack the thread, but how do you know the issue is with the Orbi? I have an Orbi mesh system that has been fine for the four years I have had it. Recently, I have been experiencing random connection drops a couple of times a day. It resets itself and reconnects without me needing to do anything. The Comcast tech that came out says the readings, line, etc. all look good and suspect it is either my modem or the router since the typical lifespan is about up. When I look at the modem when the drop happens, the lights on the modem and router all look fine initially. But, then the light briefly will go out on the modem upstream and then come back on. This happens a few of times and then all the modem lights go out and the Orbi goes offline. Then, the modem resets itself and then the Orbi comes back online.
Since yesterday ... I started having problem ... after many years of use.
It is really bad for me ... work calls (teams/zoom) drop.
I think it is Orbi as wifi signal disappear on my phone/laptop.
If it was router, wifi part should remain connected.
I feel Orbi purposefully pushed some update so that I buy a new one
Would not take this if I was given $100 as many people say there is major operating system errors and they keep disconnecting and if you have multiple Wi-Fi devices, it has many issues with disconnecting and reconnecting and creating new address entries every time and filling up the system. Switched to a different mesh system deco is the app and has been flawlwsss
I'm still using my Orbi system from 10+ years ago and still working perfect. Recently had to buy an extra satellite as we moved in to a much larger house. Couldn't be happier.
Funny, same here. Old RBK20 system or something like that, and I recently added the third satellite off ebay to get better coverage in the basement. Very few reboots or drops ever over the years.
I see the pinned comments are negative on Netgear and Orbi and just had to add my experience, which has been nothing but positive. I don't have this product exactly, but I do have 2 sets of mesh routers in the Orbi line and have had countless Netgear Nighthawks before, and my experience has been rock solid.
All these posts are anecdotes, but hey, some are also positive
I'm hearing the bad reviews on here, so I'll just say this:
I have an Orbi system, not this exact model, but it's WiFi 6 with very fast in-home network speeds. It looks just like this, and I bought it open box from Amazon AND i bought an additional satellite that matches the speed of the original router and included satellite… it's rock solid. It's been on for about 2 years bore and we never had to reset it.
I say go for it! It's Costco… what could possibly go wrong? ::insert gif of busby here::

Sounds like my experience with Arris Surfboard AX7800 mesh network. What a piece of trash that was, lol.
