Philips 5400 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine - LatteGo x1
Extra Philips LatteGo Milk System x1
Philips Original Descaler for Espresso Machines x2
Philips AquaClean Water Filter x6
I got this last Nov for around the same price from the same Phillips website, and we LOVE this thing. We have probably run about 13 lbs of beans through it, zero problems, easy to use, easy/fast to clean, and all of the drinks are great. I can do better foam and better shots manually, but that is in the realm of diminishing returns... and the convenience makes all the difference between one or two drinks a day vs. one or two a week (if that). I went for this one because of 4 user profiles (we LOVE this feature, to be able to have everyone in the house have their own dialed in drink settings easy to access), where lesser models only have 2 I think. IIRC this was the only model that had the extra shot feature... where it will actually grind, charge, and extract one shot, and then it will empty the used puck, grind again, charge, and extract the second shot all automatically. I have extra shot on all of my drinks... that one feature alone is now a deal breaker... if I ever get another machine, it MUST do the second shot like this (vs. more grounds and a single extraction).
This wasn't cheap, but compared to superautos available say 5-10 years ago (or less) it is way cheaper, and less complicated / easier to clean & fix, and it does everything all in one go. The drinks might be slightly less good, but our fam is more than happy with this thing.
I have this machine. It's great and very convenient. Start up time is about a minute or so. You just pick the drink you want, load in the milk jug (if applicable), start it, and you get coffee in another minute or so.
The grinder on the machine (and probably similar models) is kind of loud. I would see if you can see some videos of it on YouTube to see how loud it is if something like that could be a deal breaker for you.
They haven't released a new version in some time. They released a new version of the 3200 which has an ice coffee feature while this one does not. So I imagine that they're either going to refresh this version to add Ice Coffee or will likely add a new version.
They should make the water container larger on these. I have the 3200 and love it, but the most annoying part is refilling the water every other day.

How much work is it to clean out the milk parts? Seems like more effort the fill, empty, clean, than just wiping a steaming wand, but curious.
It's been super easy for me. Similar to others' comments, you can keep wash the milk parts weekly rather than daily. The milk parts take apart really easily for washing.
I have the 3200 version for 4 years. It works great has never broken. Makes great expresso quickly. The one thing I don't like is the milk frother. It just makes the milk flat. It's hard to clean the connecting tube. I ended up using a separate cheap frother. So not sure the upgrade to 5400 is worth it if you don't like the frother like me.
I got one of the cheaper models of this, which functionally is largely identical with slightly fewer drink options and no profiles, but the guts are basically the same. Had it for about 8 months now. It's a game changer. It's so nice hitting a button for coffee. No more brewing large pots, very little manual work, people who like foamy milk crap (I don't, but family members do) can easily accomplish that, etc. It's been an amazing purchase. Honestly I'm kind of tempted to get this given the more drink options and profiles - both would be handy. But it's like double the cost of what I paid, even at this sale price. Either way I highly recommend this, unless your standards are insane, and if they are, you're gonna be the kind of person that should be spending $3k on a coffemaker, not $900.
I don't think this is that great of a price; I purchased a 3200 last cyber Monday (11/29) for $549.
Someone in another thread posted that they were able to snag one on prime-day for $327; https://imgur.com/a/bswuiNy
I've posted my opinion on this machine multiple times and it's grown on me a lot -- I love it.
The only flaw is the bean hopper -- it doesn't do good job of feeding the beans to the grinder or alerting when it needs to be refilled. That aside, there are some annoyances that I've previously posted about -- but they're somewhat logical.
This or keep saving for a Jura? Serious question, I don't know much about these automatic espresso/coffee makers and am looking to have some high quality espresso at home
I have the 4300 series, and I have made 4000 cups of coffee with it so far. No issues to speak of. I do wish the brew unit cavity was a bit easier to clean, as it can get kind of gross in there if you dont keep up with it.
I have a more basic version of this machine in my kitchen and I barely spent $300 on it. The difference is are totally insignificant between the models and I need to stress this. The fancy model does NOT make better espresso then the cheap one.

If you're only wanting espresso then yes. If you're wanting more drink options, easier cleaning, user profiles, extra shot option, nicer interface, etc. then that's where you look at the other machines.
