Thanks, ordered. I had deal alert for this.

My 2010 or so Magnifica finally got to the point of no longer worth fixing. During these years,
It had daily use and kept going.

I hope this one will be as good.

I replaced a water pump $20,or so, a couple of years ago. Was an easy install for me.
This time the burr grinder unit finally went out. After a decade+ of abuse by dark roasts, not a surprise. I found one for 170, and could have fixed it, but not worth it on a 14 yr machine I paid 399 for back then.

Anyway my experience has been great with Magnificas.
I bet many of the insides are the same as my old one.

Two things worth mentioning imo:

Machines like these are more noisy than a drip coffee maker or Keurig. But then there are no quiet coffee grinders afaik. If you don't have a bedroom where someone needs to sleep nearby when coffee is made, it is no issue.

Second, depending on water, you have to descale these quite a bit. White vinegar is not as strong as proper descaling solution. However, you can buy 2 gallons for the price of a bottle of descale solution, and it worked fine for the last 8 years on my last Magnifica YMMV, if your water is full of minerals, you may need to stick with the real descaling solution.
There is zero taste residue with white vinegar. I am sure it isn't Manufacturer recommended but worked fine for me and our water.

Last tip. The machine discharges a bit of water as part of the startup and shutdown. If you keep a cup sitting under the spouts when you turn it on and off, or just have one sitting there, you have to clean the drip tray less often.
Are you really that complacent? I mean you aren't even asking if anyone here has personally used it. You're asking us to do exactly what you should...go to the item page and look at the reviews or just read the details of the deal where it literally tells you the review rating.
The reviews seem to be pretty interesting. Click the link lazy guy!

There is no discount on this item and looks like it's a normal price on other sites too until I'm missing anything.

Does anyone know if any plastic part comes into play in end to end process when it makes the Latte?

What other sites has it for this normal price? So those without a Costco membership can get it as well.

These are the reviews I come to SD for, these are great machines for the price if you need a coffee in the morning.
I like the Philips ones as they are much more convenient but don't make as good of a espresso as Delonghi ones.

Do you all think the automatic milk attachment makes a big difference? I was leaning towards getting the milk attachment

Not really. I just drink coffee and espresso and don't use the milk attachment

Fantastic machine. We rarely get coffee out anymore, just head home and make one rather than stop. My caffeine consumption is up two fold because of this damn thing.

One thing we were a bit concerned about was noise and waking are sleeping kids. No issues there, as they don't seem to be affected by our 6 am grinds.

If you are new to automatics. You can never use oily beans, they will clog and even wreck the machine depending. Do research before buying the beans- and there are plenty of great options. Lavazza Super Crema seems to be popular for people here, no oil.
Lavazza beans are much less oiler than Starbucks, Peet's, and other popular beans, which is a plus for automatics. But, buying Italian beans like Lavazza, the roast dates are much older. In the Lavazza line, Lavazza Gran Riserva, to me, has the most complex and deeper, nuttier profiles.
Whether your beans are vacuum-sealed or nitrogen-flushed, older roasted beans will tend to loose its complexity over fresh-roasted beans, over time, once the foil bags are opened, all things being equal. That being said, you need to try different brands, blends and regional coffees to find out which works best for your tastes. As long as you are consistent in your bean grind, extraction temperature, preparation and process, only then can you truly compare what YOU like or dislike. Kinda like asking which wines taste best.

If you depend on excellent espresso and aren't a hobbyist, get this machine. If you are a hobbyist and love good espresso, get a Breville bambino + DF54 combo instead.

I'm sipping on a coffee from this machine right now actually. It's been a pretty good purchase even though I have cut back on my coffee quote a bit.

The water container is plastic if nothing else.

I have a Phillips Lattego 3200 from Costco that I can never get a right latte from. Anyone have both and can attest to this being better ( ie easier learning curve )??
I have neither! I just wanted to point out just in case you missed it that the milk frother on this one is manual, unlike the lattego. hopefully that means you can learn how to make it to your liking, but it is going to take time on every cup...

it is costco, so you could buy it and return if you're dissatisfied with the milk experience.

also it might be worth checking into the standalone auto milk frothers to supplement what you already have.. it would be cheaper (I assume) and less effort on your part.

I currently have a Philips 3200 superauto with manual frother. It makes ok espressos. Would this be an upgrade in espresso quality or are superautos pretty much all the same? Don't really need the auto frother and the manual machines are too much work/hassle.

Tried the Gaggia Classic Pro with a Niche grinder. Could never get it dialed in.
I was in the same boat (had the Phillips 3200) and bought this De'Longhi a year ago - I'm much happier with this machine. Maintenance/cleaning is WAY EASIER. The espresso is equally good from both machines, and the Phillips had a few more options of types of drinks to make.

I've had one for about four months. I got it from Crate and Barrel for $500 I think. I love it but no machine is perfect. I need to descale mine now in fact and it's a pain. Feel free to ask me any questions.
