Costco Wholesale Stores [costco.com] has the Leatherman Skeletool & Skeletool KBx Combo Pack on sale for $49.99. Shipping and handling are free.
This combo went frontpage in October of 2023 but was in store only.
I already have the inexpensive Leatherman Bolster from Costco and just need to find a reason to pick up on of these....

Seems handy in a bugout bag, camping, but otherwise it doesn't seem like it would get much use day to day for me (don't camp that often).
It's been my daily for years.
Bought my first one in '11 for $35, 2nd one in '15 for $30. Picked up a pair of RX in orange for myself and the missus just before it was discontinued for the red.
This is not what I carry when I'm bikepacking, but it is what I carry around town.
It's just a good utility tool for all the small stuff that arises. For me, not too many functions where I wouldn't use half, not too few where it feels lacking.

That is an excellent question.
I can only answer for myself, of course.
Mostly, I carry the Milwaukie razor tool that has the screwdriver on the other end.
It is nice to never worry about a blade. If it breaks or goes dull, drop in another.
And the screwdriver has proven itself useful enough that I cant go back to anything that does not have one. Just pop the bit out...flathead on one side and Phillips on the other.
But I also sometimes carry my Gerber Multitool.
The pliers can be very useful.
The reason that I do not carry this more is that it is starting to get a little large. It has sharper edges that make digging into the pocket, without removing it, a little rougher on the hand. And since the knife is not swappable, I am a little more concerned with how I use it vs a replaceable razor.
I could get a pouch for the belt...but I am not Grizzly Adams....nor am I Batman.
In all of these cases, it is not about roughing it in the woods. And I do not expect any of these tools to be my entire tool set. Frankly, if I were camping, I would not bring the Milwaukie...but probably would bring the Multitool.
I carry these tools because it is just really nice to not have to go into the garage...or tool drawer to get something that I can use several times a day. I have it on me. It is super convenient.
Now I said that I have a Gerber..and some might ask...why that over a Leatherman?
That one is easy. There was a really good sale on a Gerber. If there had been a sale on a Leatherman for $25 a couple of years ago, I would likely have the leatherman.
Someone mentioned earlier that you can order it without a membership for $2.50 more. I have an expired membership and was able to order it although I didn't see the extra $2.50 up charge.

I bought another Leatherman tool and was impressed with the quality.
The knife blades are sharp AF
Depends if you value light weight and one handed knife opening or a wide assortment of tools more. Leatherman is 3 ounces lighter but only has pliers, knife, Phillips and Flat included.

Anytime I'm at home working on something (which is daily) I have the Leatherman Surge on my belt. It saves me multiple trips to the garage to get a random tool I was sure I didn't need (but ended up needing) for whatever task I'm working on. I can't even count how often I reach to my belt on a daily basis. I just recently started putting a multi tool on my belt, like in the last year (mid 40's), and now I can't live without it. I'm grabbing one of these for when I leave the house because I don't strap the Surge on to leave the house unless it happens to already be on me. I also always keep a multi tool in my fishing tackle box, range bag, emergency kit.

Just an fyi, the TSA will allow you to mail yourself back a knife or tool. This is assuming you're not in a hurry which for me is almost never. But on one occasion my wife had her leather man in her purse while flying. She mailed it back to herself at the airport. Had the tsa person not suggested it, she would have had to lose hers as well.

Edit: seeing now that the Skeletool lacks spring action pliers - that alone is enough for me to consider just getting another Wingman over this Skeletool.
