Beware! Visible lost my phone number on port in. They also refused to pay out my gift card bonus due to a mistake they made.

That's not the experience that I have, my entire family has Visible and even with one bar, we are able to receive, make calls and use the data. What you are experiencing is probably because the area you currently live.
Those other plans throttle you to like 1 mbps or less after you use 10gb, 15gb, or however much data they give you. With Visible it is really unlimited. You'll get fast speeds as long as the towers aren't congested. If you don't use a lot of data then obviously not worth it. If Verizon sucks in your area and the towers are always overused then not worth it either.
You also have unlimited hot spot with Visible. Hot spot is suppose to be limited to 5 mbps but its very easy to work around that and get full speeds.

I would not advice Visible to anyone. It always show reception, but if you get 3/5 bars or less, don't expect any connection. In my opinion there are much better MVNOs like Ultra and Mint, although they are a bit more expensive for the unlimited plan.
Depends where you sleep and hang out. I have Visible for years- no issues. I also have T-Mobile and multiple of its MVNOs w\ zero issues. Ditto Red Pocket on AT&T.
Basements, culverts, parks, wooded areas, deserts, parking garages, cheap dwellings with lots of tin, storage units, hospitals, prisons and big skyscrapers have substandard signals.
Ultra & Mint suckk after using up data threshold.
I'm in Sebring and I have Verizon and they're charging me $175 /month for 2 phones and an iPad. I think that may be too much. What do you use and where are you? This is for the poster AND anyone in Highlands County FL
Visible should be about the same. They have eSIM free trial.
I know a couple of people on it and they had no issues. I signed up 2 weeks ago and no issues so far in north Jersey. And i even got free Apple Watch service

My experience has been the opposite, but I am on the more expensive plan and my partner is on the cheaper one, she has more connection problems.
But…. When we have occasional issues I toggle airplane mode on/off and it all works again, I suspect it isn't very good at switching cell towers or something.
This was the best resource I found on the web to figure out which data plan to purchase. Only thing missing is Customer Service experience (which is subjective) and any initial costs (i.e. setup fees)
I wanted Verizon since that's probably the best coverage in my area and I wanted 10GBs or more of data, so it was really just Visible vs US Mobile. US Mobile won out because it was cheaper (even with the Hotspot add-on of $30/year) for the Flex plan (and about the same for the Starter plan for 35GBs of prioritized data) and I was worried about how much de-prioritized data will affect me with Visible in my area.
Visible is best value for unlimited data and definitely for hotspot.
Mint blows. It's terrible service and extremely expensive. If you don't pay annually you might as well go anywhere else.
US Mobile great smaller provider, offers both Verizon and T-Mobile network options. Cheap prices in all categories. If you want little data you can get it for $10 or less, you want lots of data affordable too.
Visible I'd sign up for visible+ annual plan, great great deal.
Bullshit paid advertising by Mint. The 40gb plan is not $15 per month, that's nonsensical intro rate much like this post. However at least here YOU KNOW it's an intro rate.
Mint 40gb plan is $40 monthly on 3 month lock-in or $30 if you pay annually. Ridiculous prices. At 40gb the data instantly slows to practically unusable.
If I'm paying $40 for 40gb, might as well go to Metro by T-Mobile and data doesn't slow after the 35gb instantly it just might depending on high traffic in region. Metro at least gives T-Mobile Tuesdays as well. Mint also has taxes so that $40 is more like $45 or even more. Metro flat $40 cheaper if you bring your own phone or have multiple lines.
I can't say enough good things about Visible. I have been with them for around 5 years now with 0 issues in a mid-size city. The only issue I ever had was with pricing and Visible fixed the issue before I had a chance to complain to them.

Totally agree - always 2nd class citizen with Visible - I can have full bars and get no data connection at all. Get US Mobile instead - somehow they are able to get priority data with Verizon or T-mobile, depending on where you are. Power of 2 > 1.
I ran the free trial of Visible along side my active Verizon service. Running a speed test in all my usual areas, it was consistently even. I switched over to Visible a few days later. Took me under 15 minutes to port my number over and be running strictly on Visible. So far, no complaints. (Utah)

It's fine for me in Elmhurst, WTC, Sheepshead Bay. Just not enough data.
