How much do replacement filters cost and how often should they be replaced? Are returns easy just like with amazon? Thanks, nice price!

It's decent for white noise on the second of four settings. If you use auto or the lowest setting, you probably won't ever hear it.
The unit has a filter schedule with the minimum being 3 months, which is very aggressive from what I've found.
Using aftermarket filters and vacuuming them regularly, I get about 6-8 months before they even start looking grey.
There's a carbon pre-filter that they recommend changing every 3 months, but it's strictly for odor. I would definitely continue using one and just clean it regularly, as it helps the HEPA filter not get clogged with pet hair.
The going rate for 4 HEPA filters is about $32 on Amazon.
If you end up wanting to replace the carbon filter and the main filter on the recommend schedule, the cost per year is about $34 (2 HEPA, 4 carbon).
After eating lots of beans, and the family is all in the same room, sometimes my eyes water worse than when I cut fresh onions!
I have thought about wearing goggles and/or gas masks, but both are too noticeable.
Will this air purifier also address my other concerns such as 59 percent nitrogen, 21 percent hydrogen, 9 percent carbon dioxide, 7 percent methane and 4 percent oxygen?
Seeking relief...
Please help me if you can!
I've gotten four refurbished models from Woot. Two had problems. One had a power supply issue, and the other had a bearing that made noise. However, this actually merits a positive review, because the manufacturer offered great support, and immediately sent completely new units.

They are excellent for that. Just change the filters so it doesn't get clogged. Wash the mesh pre-filter and vacuum the carbon.
If it gets clogged, the bearings will damage and it'll make a permanent whine. But this is easy to avoid.
You made ALL of this up.
The retail C545 has a limited two year warranty, just like the C535 and 5300.

It's not a "budget" version of any model. It simply covers a smaller square footage and thus doesn't require a higher CFM fan or larger filter (the C535 and C545 are both rated for 360sqft btw). The listed weight on multiple retail sites is 15LB. Not sure where you got 11 from or what it would matter.
Also, this is not the first Winix purifier to use an S size filter. They didn't create a separate filter size just for one model.
Somehow, you failed to mention the only thing that would have been accurate and beneficial, which is the fact that their S size filter purifiers are discontinued.
Continuing to buy filters for it won't be a problem, but buying a new purifier will require a different size filter.
I have purchased two of these devices, one for each room. This will be more beneficial for us as we tend to keep the doors closed during the day. Thank you, team Slickdeal for helping me save $30 after purchasing two devices instead of one.
P.S. I hope the devices look new so I can return the one I bought from Costco.
