BE WARNED!!

This stuff contains SUCRALOSE!!

Just kidding.

Couldn't resist. 😂
fyi for those on keto and even diabetics, the two first ingredients are dextrose and maltodextrin, both sugar, and carbs!
Unless you're eating packets by the handful, the minute amount of carbs in these won't make a difference.

"The amount tested in the study is very high and its intake is impossible, Urrialde said. You would be consuming an excessive amount of sucralose before you reach the DNA damage threshold for S6A. Factoring in the estimate that only 10% of sucralose is metabolized to S6A, the consumption required to cross the threshold would be even higher."

Yeah those 2 always raise my insulin levels. I just buy pure sucralose and make my own liquid or use one of the included scoops when I'm cooking. I hate that the sneak dextrose and maltodextrin in so many foods. A lot of them shouldn't be sweetened at all.

I really wish people who don't use sucralose would stop that crapping when they obviously would never consider purchasing it. you didn't see me in the candy and sweets threads talking about "eww it has sugar! yuck!"

Shrug. There are better options out there that aren't comprised of sugar and carbs, which is you know, the whole point of using an artificial sweetener? Why not just use cane sugar at that point? You can make the same argument. Maltodextrin also has a GI of 94. That's way above even cane sugar!

I mean yeah exactly case in point. Thanks for sharing. I was getting knocked out of keto until I dropped the maltodextrin from my diet.
It's a valid concern for a small segment of the population (Type II diabetes), but keep in mind the majority of people utilizing these artificial sweeteners are doing so just to manage overall calories, not because they are inherently at risk of any sudden raise in blood sugar. I agree that using an option that doesn't utilize maltodextrin is the correct choice for someone with Type II diabetes.

You can buy pure sucralose, but weighing out the amount needed for one serving is difficult at home. You can make a solution, but then you have to worry about it going bad. For me, I figured it was just easier to buy the packets, but I don't care about the extra ingredients. The paper waste annoys me more.
Or just buy the bulk sucralose blend which is the exact formula of the packets (so added maltodextrin for more precise measuring) and use a culinary measuring spoon to portion the amount from a packet. That paper waste is a nuisance and completely unnecessary in a domestic setting.

Exactly. Even then, there's no guarantee you'll get the cancer, so I'd probably go with the tried-and-true method of chain-smoking.

In all seriousness, people should be using all the information available to them in order to make the best decisions possible. They should also try to understand why certain messages are pushed so hard. In the case of artificial sweeteners, it's pretty obvious the sugar industry is not interested in you cutting down on your calories, so they're doing all they can to villainize a good weight loss tool.

Yes, I'm sure there is a specific amount that will hurt you, kill you, or cause cancer. There's also a certain level of marijuana that can kill you, but that amount is pretty unattainable for humans.

There's even a certain amount of water that will kill you if you drink too much too fast.

Water. Where's all the headlines about how harmful it is to drink water?

Still find it amazing that so many people still believe the "experts" and find a deal app the best place to debate nutrition. So many examples of the experts being wrong I'll just share the one that completely changed my trust… I lost 10 or so years of enjoying butter (which makes everything taste better) because the experts said margarine was better for you. We all know how that turned out.

Ordered 3 boxes of this. I go through a lot an enjoy lots of sweet iced coffee with a whole lot of caffeine.

I have Type II and switched from packets of Splenda to Liquid Splenda, because the maltodextrin raised my blood sugar and Liquid Splenda doesn't have it.

Good to know. I have had spikes from erythritol also. But again ymmv. We are all unique. T1 here

None of the sugar alcohols cause me a problem. That's why I deduction the sugar alcohol from total carbs when I'm trying to figure out how many carbs something has.

stevia or bust!
It's a shame that for a significant portion of the population stevia tastes so terrible- most of those of us who can taste it would rather have coffee, tea, etc unsweetened than with stevia. I'd certainly rather have the benefits.

Purchased this on 5/5 (3rd time buying this quantity & brand.) I didn't even think to post this deal on here because I'm done with posting any deals on SD anymore.
