AM- I love you, but your family makes my family look sane and that's hard to do.
Roll They are a mess! It doesn't even phase me anymore. OF COURSE we forgot the ashes. Why would we need those?? Of course we had to have a Guatemalan marimba tune as our recessional from church. Why wouldn't we? Those 4 months she spent there truly defined her life on earth. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I picked my van up from the detail shop - she's so pretty! All clean and shiny!! I almost don't want to pick the kids up from school today. They'll mess up the shampooer pattern in the carpet. Annoyed

OMG LMAO on the music choice for the recessional. SMH @ the person (assuming one of your parents) that got all global on that one.

#1 reason why I don't interact with the majority of my family is because I can't handle the Thrifteh version of AM's posts. My boys create enough chaos for me right now.

What's got two thumbs and just hit Level 11 on Fitocracy?

Thumbup THIS GUY! Big Grin Harhar

945 points for a 45-minute barbell workout. Not saying I didn't kick my own ass but - dayum! Bigeye I had to get in & out of the gym b/c I had a phone interview at 3pm. The interview was for the wrong position... but they still liked me well enough to pass my resume along to another team. "We'd love to work with you but your experience doesn't fit our open position... hang on... [mumbling amongst themselves]... we'll call you next week." woot Every job at this place requires a security clearance so this could be a big step for me, career-wise. Pray

I might ask a girl out tonight. If I don't chicken out. I've only done this once sober & the girl said no but to be fair I'd never talked to her before, just walked by her desk a lot (this was at my last job & she worked for a different company on our floor).

This girl I know a little bit, her name & a little bit about her.

I'm skeered. Cold Hide

Do it!! If she says no, it's not the end of the world. But you never know unless you try!

laugh out loud We'll see. I actually hate the meeting where I met her but I keep going because she's there. So, if she says no - I never have to go to that shitty meeting again! LMAO

I just don't want to be the creepy guy who uses AA to meet chicks... but then again, all I do is work, go to the gym, and go to meetings... I guess I could talk to girls at the gym but in all honesty when I'm there I'm very focused on what I'm doing (mostly because I have to psych myself up to do the heavy lifts and that basically means loud angry music and pissing myself off) plus I doubt the girls there (with a few exceptions maybe) want to be hit on by smelly sweaty dudes when they're all sweaty themselves!

So that leaves work or meetings. Dontknow My sponsor says it's okay and a guy who's been sober like 34 years has dated a few women in AA. At least we already have something in common! Roll

Anyway. Whee If she says no I'll go drown my sorrows in a giant milkshake at Baskin Robbins. laugh out loud

I'd think it's safer to ask out people from meetings. At least you know where you stand in that department and won't have to have that conversation. /bright side

In the continuing saga of AM's Family Sucks.... I RSVP'd everyone for a benefit spaghetti dinner tonight in support of a mom at school/scouts who is battling cancer. 3 adults/3 kids for my sister, her kids and my parents. Guess who's probably not going to make it? Annoyed $45 I promised would be donated that won't show up. I wisely did not sign the crazy train up for the family walk tomorrow morning that starts at 8:45. They'd never make it in time. Doh

You should move to Alaska or something. That was a great excuse for my family when I was growing up. "Sorry we can't visit, it's like 5000 miles!"

Yeah...a lot easier to not have to 'splain to a girl that you are in AA and so on and so forth...yeah you can swap stories...but you won't have that "Skeleton" hiding in the closet so to speaknod

Go for it!!!!
