Is that all mandatory? I remember when my parents & the ex-wife wanted to go to an indoor handgun range one time we took a gun safety course that would've qualified us for our carry permits. I let mine lapse but there was a shooting portion in that course... but later I found out most of it was required by the instructor, not the state.

Yeah. The rules are strict. Fingerprinting, background check, 10 hr class, shooting skills. It's good for 5 yrs.

I know. Maybe because we're more likely to actually shoot? They want to be sure we REALLY understand the law.

Holy carp! (yes carp, I pray to fish now)

I went to a meeting, had breakfast with a friend, got my house appraised for my refinance, mowed the lawn, spread 100lbs of grass seed and 100lbs of fertilizer, did my laundry and cleaned the kitchen.

I'm exhausted.

Plus I texted my new friend the whole time. We have been texting nonstop for three days now. Over 300 messages (which isn't a lot to you kids but is roughly my YEARLY text total prior to meeting this girl).

Tomorrow I am going to try hot yoga. I feel like I have one of those, what do you call 'em, a life?

I passed the written part! Ridiculously easy, but I passed! Two people didn't pass the shooting part. One woman didn't even come back into the room after the shooting part. Another guy got pulled out after 4 hrs when the instructor graded his shooting exam. He didn't have to double check mine.

All I need to do now is get fingerprinted, get a passport picture taken and send off for my new CHL! Kinda proud of me.
