Photography thread - for Schoob

Schoob asked for people to post their photography in a thread.
I'm not a pro, but I take some good photos and I have a sincere passion for photography. Soon, I hope to learn more and take some great photos.
Since Schoob wants to see a thread about photography, here are some good ones that I took of Luray Caverns last weekend.
As you can imagine, it's tough to get good photos in a cave, but this is my favorite view of Dream Lake inside the caverns:

Here's the formation that I think looks like a little resting sherpa carrying his pack. Or, if you look at the back of the formation, it kind of looks like Vlad Dracul.

This is my favorite picture that I took of the Wishing Well:

Here's one of the ceiling of one of the caves:

And one of some contrasting stone:

Full disclosure, this isn't my photo, our feeder is under the eves of the house so they're always in shadow as they feed.
There are tons of Roufus hummingbirds here, they're really pretty but very territorial so we rarely see any other types of hummingbirds on our feeder.

If you're brave, download the original size photo, which is a mere 20,000 pixels wide, for a 66MP image the stitched together image in photoshop on my computer occupies something like 800 MB Once I'm sure I'm done editing that I'll probably have to find something with more reasonable compression
An Orca breaching.
Some Steller Sea Lions not doing much at all.

I saw some on my ferry trip from Anacortes to Sydney, B.C., but not photos worth writing home about next time I'm on the west coast I will probably look into actually doing one of those marine life watching cruises

They did some stops on the way to and from the area the Orcas where in to show us Seals, Bald Eagles and the Steller Sea Lions. We were also lucky to have a marine biologist on board too, she was hitching a ride, trying to get pics of the new baby Orca and I think she got some with her longer lens. All I got was the babies fin sticking up between his momma and his aunt.

If you take the ferry directly to San Juan Island (the westernmost island) you can then island hop back eastward to the mainland. It's the cheaper way to see all of the San Juan islands.
Me: Sounds like fun. Last week we went to Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, Hurricane Ridge (in the Olympic Mountains) and whale watching in the San Juan Islands.
Friend: Wow
One of the most memorable trips for me was when we went to Cape Cod and out on a whale watch...saw at least one minke whale a blue whale..and then got up close to the humpbacks where they were feeding... one came right up to the side of the boat... lifted it's head enough to keep one eye out of the water as it slide alongside of the boat watching all of us. Absolutely mesmerizing.

One of the things I learned on our recent trip is that a whale's vision is just as good out of water as it is when they're under water.
