Not sure if this is the right forum...

I am going to Montauk, NY later this weekend. I am wondering the best way to reach Montauk from Boston...

Google Maps shows a route with ferry. Guess my car will need to be parked somewhere (unless the ferry will accommodate it) .

Without a ferry, it will take 2 additional hours.

What airlines serves Boston / Montauk area?

What is the best way to reach Montauk? How does one travel locally in Montauk?

I am going there for a 3-4 days...

Any help is appreciated.

I don't think you can fly into Montauk. You can fly into Islip (Long Island) or JFK but from Boston you're only limited to JFK I believe. From JFK you could take the Air Train right from the terminal to Jamaica Station which gives you access to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) out to Montauk which is the last stop on the Montauk line. It's a trek, for sure.

I didn't know there was a ferry to Boston. If there is I'd have to assume it's your best bet. I've only heard of ones to Bridgeport and Newport, but I rarely go out that far on the island.

I think this is the ferry you are talking about. It'll cost about $50 each way for car and driver. book online and give yourself extra time for traffic.

There are car ferries out of New London & Bridgeport, CT. The New London ferry will drop you closer to Montauk. It's probably not easy to travel around Long Island without a car.
