Wifi calling on my S3 still uses my tmobile minutes. I think that feature just allows you to make calls over wifi when you don't have actual signal.

The vonage app is working great so far.

its been mentioned earlier but youre still charged for minutes using tmobiles wifi calling app. You have to use Vonage or Groove IP/ talkatone or other apps like those

If i buy a new phone from say target. Doesn't that come with a new sim? I could than activate online to get this plan? or do i have to order a sim from tmobile.com and use that i am just wondering how they would know the differance. In my head its the same as me going to walmart grabbing a phone and coming home... Flame on

I kept paying overages on the minutes and I wanted to tether legit so I signed up on the 5GB value plan but I get nights and weekends which helps out a lot.

Hey, anyone notice that the 100 minutes doesn't seem to be a 1:1 ratio? I swear I made a call for 15-20 minutes and it seemed to deduct closer to 30 minutes!

It was a good run, I probably saved close to $600 since I've been using this plan. Great plan if you don't talk that much, but sadly I have been having to make appointments and this is a terrible plan if people put you on hold all the time I probably spent over 100 minutes just on hold last month lol.

Wow. This explains how I burned through my minutes so quickly this month when I thought I should have used just a few.

Should have looked at all the VOIP stuff out there before just giving up on the plan. Not saying it would or wouldn't work but it's worth trying before getting rid of it...

I thought about it but decided that I didn't want to install this and that app for voip. I may still do voip for my house but on my mobile I didn't want to fuss with it. I needed the extra minutes and the hotspot without root so I just went value plan.

Are you noticing that 1 minute of your calls is not equal to what T-Mobile is deducting from your plan? That was the thing I noticed about this plan. I did love it for the time that I had it though. In the Los Angeles area I never had my service go out and had great speeds on my data.

I try VOIP for 25 days. It is horrible. VOIP technology is just mature yet.

I get into alot of pizzing contest with callers doing "hello hello" and "can you hear me now"?

I would not do it.

After being on this plan during the first month I was also thinking that there is an error somewhere and minutes disappear faster than they should have. I really don't think they do. You have to remember that you get to loose 1 minute the moment that minute has started. It is theoretically possible to loose that 100 minutes in .... 100 seconds by making one hundred separate connections, each lasting one second long. By the same token it is more economical to talk to someone for 30 seconds in one phone call (net effect - 1 minute depleted) rather than making three separate 10 second long calls (net effect - 3 minutes depleted). I know that I am probably stating the obvious here but depending on the particulars of your calling pattern it may seem like minutes are disappearing much faster.

Yeah, I get that but it seemed as if more minutes were being deducted on my longer calls.

I no longer have this plan but test it out and report back the next time you have a few minute conversation. Check your phone for the time called and then check your account to see if they are deducting the proper amount of minutes. Or make a 1 second call and see if they only take 1 minute off your bill. I think it may take 24 hours to update though so hopefully no calls come in before the update.
