Submit a Submit a 25- to 250-word essay about your pet(s) special qualities that make them heroes in your eyes, how your pet(s) help make your community a better, safer or more manageable place, how your pet(s) have committed a heroic act that helped to save or improve someone's life and/or about extraordinary people who devote their time to improving animal welfare. JUDGING TO DETERMINE ESSAY CONTEST GRAND, FIRST AND SECOND PRIZE
WINNERS (Applicable to Essay Contest component of Promotion only): After the conclusion of the Promotion Period, all eligible Contest Entries received will be judged preliminarily by Administrator and subsequently by a panel of representatives of the Sponsor determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Judging of the Essay Contest. Entries will be grouped by Category and will be judged on the following criteria: 34% Creativity/Originality; 33% Quality of Submission; and 33% Adherence to Contest Theme/Category. The Entry with the highest cumulative point total for all criteria combined, in each Category, as determined by the judges will be a potential Grand Prize Winner. The Entry with the second highest cumulative point total for all criteria combined, in each Category, as determined by the judges will be a potential First Prize Winner. The Entry with the third highest cumulative point total for all criteria combined, in each Category, as determined by the judges will be a potential Second Prize Winner. In case of a tie, tied Entries will be broken by Entry with highest cumulative point score in Creativity/Originality. If tie continues, then ties will be broken by Entry with highest cumulative point score in Quality of Submission. If tie continues, then ties will be broken by Entry with the highest cumulative point score in Adherence to Contest Theme/Category. If tie cannot be broken, tied Entries will be evaluated by a new judge according to original criteria, and tied Entry with highest cumulative score by new judge will be declared winner of the tie.
