The Official Car Talk Thread
BMW is bringing back the straight 6 for 2013 (or maybe 14).. They're doing a twin turbo version in the name of fuel economy. There was rumor about there being a third turbo in there too. Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On.
You act as if there is some virtue in living a long flavorless life. My excesses will kill me, but they have made my life worth living. Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard. |

You would think people at F1 would have the respect for that type of thing, but I guess not. A good friend of mine is going to the same track for MotoGP next year, kinda jealous. I am not into bikes really, but anything with an engine interests me. I did a Groupon "Exotic car track day" locally, it was actually at Gillette stadium. I got to drive for about 5 mins in an F430, but a 599 was one of the choices. I said "Give me mid-engine or give me death!" It was expensive for a 5 minute thing, but I would say it was definitely worth it. It was pretty fun - didn't get to go more than 65mph or so, based on the track layout, but the handling was amazing. I was suprised I could fit in one - had to wear a helmet, and I am 6'3" already. WTF would BMW do with 3 turbos for 6 cylinders? Use a sequential system, or actually have tiny turbos that only feed 2 cylinders? |

My dad was invited by Jaguar out to Gillette earlier this year for a driving experience with some of their high end performance models. Said he had an absolute blast. I'm going to MotoGP in March myself. Tix are much more reasonable than they were for F1. I also planning on at least going to the Australian V8 supercar series in May. |

I like cars.
The constitutions of most of our States and of the United States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press. -Thomas Jefferson, June 5, 1824

I heard about the Jaguar driving, sounded pretty sweet. They do a lot of stuff there, giant parking lots that are perfect. I wish I was closer to a more mainstream track. Lime Rock in CT is a bit too far. I have been there once, thought, for the SRT Track Experience - one of the best driving days I ever had - http://www.drivesrt.com/srt-track-experience/ |
