Finally, I bought the wool alpaca sweater because I needed something for about $20 with an exchange only receipt that I got a price adjustment on. I bought it because it was there, and I bought it a size too big. Surprisingly, I love it. I think I'm going to leave it in my office for when I get cold. It's big enough where I could wear it over something, and the design is slouchy enough where it lays really well over other layers. It's also REALLY soft and comfortable. Not sure if any of you other girls run as cold as I do, but I figured I would mention it. It's one of my favorite express purchases recently, which really surprises me, considering the fact that I was thinking about returning it...
Express men's clothes are impossible to guess on. My DH wears a 32/34 in most jeans. In Express, he needed a 30/34, & they were a little loose. He didn't like the slim cut, so it didn't end up being an issue. I'm glad to know the coats run big too. I'll know to size down for DH. DS, OTOH, usually wears S tops & sweaters. The S coats I bought him for Christmas fit perfectly, so you never know what to order.
. . .
Note* I didn't want to multi-quote you a dozen times so I'm also referring to previous posts. Hope it's not too confusing! Good to know about the alpaca sweater, it's soooo cold. Yes, I live in CA but our windows don't seal so I've been wearing sheepskin boots and my down jacket zipped up. I run cold too! At about 68degrees, my nail beds start turning purple. I'm going to have to return that epic shedding cocoon one. It was quite cute and comfy but the reviewers didn't lie...I'm still spitting out black fur from it Sorry about Big . Can you ask him if he'll just Paypal you the $50+ that he was going to spend on dinner so you can be done with it? Thanks for the HU on the non-stacking of VS codes. Oh and lastly - GbyGUESS makes amazing platform shoes! I don't know what it is... but the pitch of the shoe is the only one I've found that doesn't put an intense amount of strain on my foot, even when they're over 3" after platform. I have one pair and have been tempted to purchase more
Big's response to my text was, "Some people value consistency. You won't believe it, but my reliability is head and shoulders above other doctors." I responded with, I have never doubted your skills as a doctor." He said, "well put."
I was tempted to make some comment to Big about me being a "consultant" but decided to just let things be. This is the most pathetic "thank you" for doing someone else's homework that I have ever received.
Those Verna shoes are G by Guess. Those are the only the only platforms that fit me as well, which is surprising given their low price point. Sometimes, I see $20/$49 coupons for dsw on ebay for really cheap. That's how I get my Verna shoes. Something to consider if you do want to purchase more.
Sorry about your cocoon sweater. Try the alpaca one if it comes back in stock

Agreed! My DH went down 2 sizes in pants there and he seemed pleased He will be sad to hear he's now the victim of "Vanity Sizing" . :lm ao: . I think it's the first time he's had 1% stretch in his jeans : P . Have you tried their dress shirts? The arms seem really long compared to DH's other shirts. He's a swimmer so he needs the L for the broad back , but the length on the arms is more than I've seen with his other shirts. Of course, he does have a habit of busting his elbow through the cotton/casual button-down shirts I've bought him , so maybe he needs that kind of length.
YES, some of their shirts have extremely long sleeves. The extra slim fit is extra long. It fits my friend who has gorilla arms and is very skinny - he would probably be a S in other express items but M in the extra slim fit was perfect on him. In L it was long on my friends that tried it. The non-extra slim fit seemed okay though - I got DH the fitted cut and the sleeves were fine.
speaking of the fur collar coat, i just ordered the navy in s. now in case my pink one is a fail in some way shape or form, i'll have a navy one. (that is if it ships)
this jacket [express.com] -- immediately aged me about 30 years. i thought i looked like my mom. RETURN i also found a bunch of them hanging in the store i shopped in on sat - looks like a lot of ppl ordered it and returned it. i tried fantasia blue and wild orchid.
the fit and flare dress - i added an off-center belt. i am unsure about it. i can't decide if i look like a little girl or a grandma in it.
the voluminous skirt - not bad with untucked shirt controlling it some.
the herringbone set - i used the same shirt, please excuse that that is me on the way to an imaginary job interview.

maybe i will venture into a dsw to try your shoes. i still think they'll kill my toe, but they are definitely cute.

I think the busting of the elbows is quite common? DBF says he does that a lot too. So far his Express shirts in rotation have held up
Also, I got the Unifyy. Love it! I am not used to such low shoes when I first stepped in, I was like how to walk?! The fit of the roomier front is really nice for wide feet! Unfortunately, I guess my heel is narrower than yours because they aren't super snug, so I'll have to put those heel grip things in. Otherwise might have sliding out problems. So far I really like the comfort! for shoe twin!

I like the skirt in the 2nd photo with the shirt tucked in!
the herringbone set! now don't you wish you had the pants too?

i never did place my order. i left work and promptly forgot.

Ivory cords - I love these pants. They are more flattering on my booty than the Stella & Zelda Jeans. They're long, but can be turned under. I wish I would have ordered the other color.
Black, Lace Jacket - This jacket will be very versatile. DH didn't like it at first. I had put it on over a peplum top I was trying on. After I put on a form fitting, longer top, he changed his mind. I've decided I'm definitely going to wear it with jeans this weekend.
Porda's Jacket - This fit great with a form fitting top. I had a feeling the huge, baggy t-shirt I originally tried it on with was the culprit. This was my favorite of the 3 jackets, but I'll probably get more use out of the black, lace jacket.
Denim Ruched Jacket - The sleeves were too big & too long for the style. I'm not a fan of shoulder pads either. They make my shoulders look too wide for my frame. If it had fit well everywhere else, I would have tried to remove them. It's a really cute jacket, it just didn't fit right.
liggie's Dress - I tried it in XS & S. The S was longer, but that was the only positive to sizing up. XS fit perfectly & was much more flattering. The S kind of just hung. Strangely, it also showed my belly worse. I'll have to buy tights to wear with it, since the XS is shorter than I'm used to. It's been many years since I wore tights or pantyhose. That will take some getting used to.
Radiant Rose Ruched Lace Dress - As expected, this dress fit exactly like the other dresses in this style. I'm on the fence on whether or not to keep it. I put it in the maybe pile to try on again, before deciding.
Printed Peplum Shell Top - This is a cute top, but it didn't work for me at all. It looked like it was trying to pull extra fabric to the chest area making the sides look puckered. (I hope that makes sense.) It also didn't come close to covering my bra on the sides. I'm not sure what bra would work with it. This was a small. A medium would be too big, because the S had plenty of extra room everywhere but the chest area. I'm really hoping this isn't a common problem with peplum tops. There are a few I really want.
Black Wool Peacoat - I tried XS & S. The XS is kind of form fitting & flattering. The sleeves are a little long, but I can turn them under a little to make them more comfortable. I can wear a sweater & cami underneath, but not a lot of thick layers. The S added a lot of bulk to my frame, & the sleeves were longer. It was kind of boxy looking. I'm keeping the XS & returning the S. If I lived somewhere that required many layers, I would have kept the S. I'll mostly wear it over dresses.
Lace Black Peplum Dress http://www.express.com/ponte-knit.../index.pro in 2 - I had tried this on earlier, then put it in the maybe pile. The sleeves were tight. A little while later it occurred to me that the sleeves may have been turned under making them feel tighter than they actually were. Before having DH return it to the store hoping to find a 4, I decided to try it on again last night. Apparently, the sleeves were turned under, as I suspected. They fit me like they fit the model & didn't feel tight at all. I do think I could probably wear a 4 also. If you can't get your usual size, you would probably be safe getting a size up.
Everything else was tees, so you probably don't need reviews of those.
