And I hate hate hate Prince Theon
I just started book 10. 9 Was an absolute chore. I think it's the shortest book and it took me about as long to read as one of the longer ones because I JUST DIDN'T CARE about so much.
The Mat story, the Rand story, and to some degree Egwyne all had me really interested. I know you hate her, but her taking control of her position was kind of cool political intrigue, so that was cool. The rest could have not even been written and you wouldn't notice.
This is a lot like reading Harry Potter, for me. I think JK Rowling is an awful author as far as her writing goes. But she writes characters that you really care about and an overall story that you really want to see through. With Jordan it's like he can really get your adrenaline up for certain story sections but then you have to wait another 400 pages before you get there again. And what's worse, it's all stuff that flat out unnecessary to the story that you have to wade through.
Argh! Anywho, that's my rant for now.
