This morning I got this message from Macy's. I sent them a message asking why their contest goes till midnight pacific time. My local Macy's closes at 9:30 so I'm not sure why it would say it wasn't during store hours. Did anyone else get this message?

We reviewed your potential win in the Macy's Scan for a Grand promotion and found that you are not eligible to receive the $100 Macy's Gift Card.

We reviewed your win and found that you registered the promotion after store hours and not in a Macy's store, which is a violation of the Official Rules.
Sorry to hear that. I wonder if the other wins from the QR code posted will be affected.

Sorry, what a let down. It's probably because the QR code posted was unique to the mall of america location (the link had the state abbreviation and zip code in it) and the time you used that code that particular store would've been closed is my guess.

What a bummer. I'm thinking my husbands win will be denied too. He won 1 minute to midnight, pacific time. But why would the thing run so late if Macy's closes at 10 PM at the latest (from what I saw on the "participating stores" list. Further, why would prizes be set to drop after that time if nobody was eligible to enter because the store was closed?

My mom got the same message today, this was after she got the form to fill out from them yesterday for the taxes. They said the win must come from inside the store at the actual machine. She had used the link to enter because she doesn't know scan a QR code.

For me, it's the first time I ever entered a contest using a QR code so now I know more about them and they are probably specific to an area. They haven't answered me on why they have a contest going to midnight pacific time if the stores close at 9:30 pacific time. Seems misleading on that part.

I hope some of the others who won gift card on this forum actually get their cards! Next time Macy's has a one day contest, if I find out about it earlier in the day, I will for sure make the drive to the store just to give it a try because it could be worth it. I will chalk this up as a lesson learned.

Sorry to the people who are getting prizes taken back, but this will be a lovely surprise for a bunch of people who lost in the store.

Wonder if they will have a second chance drawing... But if they did.. I entered after closing time.. so.. oops...but me nor my daughter won any thing.. But a question... if they are DQing wins because you wasn't in the store, what about the time zone difference. I thought they still had game up for west coast...I thought game ended 2 am est..so west coast time would be 12am..

The rules stated that the game ended at 11:59pm PT, which would be 2:59am ET. Either way you look at it west coast stores closed at 10 at the latest. If it was in-store at certain times only, then they shouldn't have had this end that late for one, and why were prizes still available AFTER those times?

Last year when they ran this, I played and lost, but got an e-mail a few months later stating due to technical errors they ran a second chance drawing and I won one of the $1,000 gift cards. Finally just used the last of it. It seems like the way Macy's and ePrize runs this contest is flawed.

Well, maybe there is still hope out there for those who won. Macy's shouldn't have kept game up if they weren't going to honor the wins, and they know that people can take a pic of the qr and post it. Looks like Macy's and eprize gonna get a bunch of complaints. And for the second chance drawing, congrats on your win and good luck to everyone who won or might win if they have second chance. Smilie

Well, still no reply from eprize/Macys regarding my win, now non win, reply to the email they sent to me. I had mentioned to them that my win, was during store hours and the contest shouldn't have went till midnight if nobody could enter after 9:30 or 10 p.m. Pacific time, even though my "win" was at 9:10ish. I live on the west coast and my local Macy store closes at 9:30.

If you used the posted QR code (from a Central timezone store), I think you'll be out of luck.
