they're not the same threads. one is strictly deals, one is strictly chat. one is in hot deals, one is in the lounge. the last post date is a non-issue. apparently, it's been forgotten.
like i said. users here have a choice. take it to pm, talk in the lounge forum or just simply be removed from this thread.

don't assume that the people who are irritated with the excessive chit chat are not regular contributors. i'm not going to disclose who's irritated nor will i out the person they mod alerted.
as you can see, this has been an issue since the beginning. this lounge thread alone is dated two years ago. even the title said "limited off topic"
it hasn't been "limited" recently. it's been excessive.
mods don't have time to babysit a mega thread for trivial stuff like cleaning up off topic. we can either remove it or kindly ask that you use another thread. if we remove it, people cry censorship. if we ask you to use another thread, we're asking for a compromise.
i also have an option to friendly-warn but i won't. that's over the top on my part.
so.
can we just compromise? all i'm saying is take it to pm or come use this thread. if kohls, victoria's secret, marlboro contest/mega thread people, etc., can do this, you can too.

And the posts that you're tagging as being 'chit-chat' while not being deals per se arguably were generally on-topic as far as how such deals for this thread are found. It wasn't some completely random chatting.
Not intending to argue with you as far as enforcing the rule. It is what it is and you're doing your job. Just seems kind of trivial and unnecessary at this point. I could understand it if it were the OP or the larger group of active users were saying so but that's not the case.
So can we active users just make another thread in the main forum for AWD deals with chat permitted? Anyone who wants the peace and quiet of deals only and no talking otherwise can stick with the old one.
