You need a new PSU. this has 300 watts and switching out PSU on these are a pain.

Pretty solid, you could only build this for about the same and the parts wouldn't be any better.

Processor - $175
Ram - $100
SSD - $65
Motherboard - $75
Case with built in PSU - $50
KB/Mouse/DVD drive - $40
Windows license - $25 (ebay)

Total - $530

I'm curious, what's everyone's opinion on Acer as a brand? Would that be a concern in any way for this system?

I use an acer desktop as my main computer at home

Never really had a problem and had it for 6 years already.
I replaced the power supply because i made many upgrades to my desktop over the couple of years that and it seemed like it started going out about 1.5 years ago.

I bought an asus a couple of months back for the office and it failed in a couple of days i guess i was unlucky.

Acer and HP home user desktops are pretty much the same internally.
Hp business computers are a bit better quality though

Acer is fine... if anything i would just worry about the cheap power supply i know they had a 450 watt 80+ certified a couple of days ago for $20-$24

Noy bad deal indeed, very similar to the staples one with the harddrive difference (256SSD vs 1t+96GB SSD , not clear if it's two drives or a hybrid)
