I am truly brain dead tonight. Yes Kobayashi. We were up very early to be at the Friends of the Seattle Library warehouse sale when they opened. It was hot, dusty and tiring lugging around all the finds as we searched for even more books. The place is a huge old airplane hanger and it was chock full of tables of books.

Since you're so into the music scene, you should try to make it to the Kerrville Folk Festival next May/June. It's a great time with a lot of really good musicians.

I don't really do that kind of folk music, just not my thing. just like most country, most polka, and whiney singer songer writer boys, that's about the only thing I won't listen to.

Singapore was interesting, Renault seems to be getting worse as the season goes on, for sure EEK! I was impressed by Force India though, they really seem to be getting it together nod

bed time now, g'night AMT Bye

Hamilton screwed up this race. He has no one to blame but himself for that crash. I will say though, he wouldn't have to push so hard during the race if the car was able to get off starting grid faster. McLaren needs to do some serious changes to the car during the off season.

Hamilton's father had some interesting comments about Hamilton's management team. I have to say, I agree with him.

Did you see my message in the Texas thread? San Angelo set a new record today, 100 days of 100 or higher temps. It was 104 today and my dad played golf. Crazy

The old record in 1969 was 60 days.

EEK! we didn't hit 100 today, I think it was only 98 laugh out loud

we hit 103 and 104 over the weekend here in Austin, I think we're just around 90 days above 100 for the year, above the old record of 69. we did get about four minutes of rain this evening Whee there's more rain in the forecast, too. even if it doesn't hit downtown Austin directly, I am hoping that it at least hits the watershed and gives us some drinking water

Yesterday was our first real day of fall, after a long stretch of sunny and warmer than usual days. It's been really nice but I honestly missed the rainy cool weather. Next thing you know, I'll be growing webbing between my toes. laugh out loud

laugh out loud

I'm still thinking about taking off sometime after the 7th of October... not sure where I'd go or what I'd do. not feeling terribly adventurous since my back has been so messed up Doh I'd love to go to NYC, but there's not much way to pace yourself through a trip to NYC, it's going to be long days on your feet no matter you do there Doh

maybe if I flew to Seatle and got a rental car, I could drive up to Vancouver, and drive around some in the areas around there to break it up Dontknow

If driving won't make your back worse, then you could do a trip here without too much trouble.

They say the drive from Vancouver to Whistler (where they held the winter Olympics) is really pretty. We haven't done it yet, I think it's about a two hour drive from Vancouver. There's also a train and a bus to Whistler, if you don't want to drive up in the mountains. Or if you skip Whistler, there's a very scenic overlook of Vancouver that only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to drive up to from downtown, so you can get a great view of the city.

From Vancouver you could drive over (car ferry) to Vancouver Island as it's very pretty. From Victoria on Vancouver Island, you could cross back via the ferry into WA state and drive down along the shoreline of the peninsula back towards Seattle for a different scenic drive back to Seattle. There's also the Olympic Mountain Range on the peninsula, which you could check out while there. So lots of options to pick from.

I'm headed to bed now but will PM you some links tomorrow that I already have bookmarked, so you can check out your options.

Yawn Night ML. Bye
