I'm about ready for bed, it's been a very bus week at work. I suppose the last week of the fiscal year can be that way. Faint

Watching Doctor Who. Really confused and sad. It's a confusing episode and sad because it's the last one for this season, not counting the Christmas Special.

I like to think of all the possibilities that time travel could open up. It makes you see the world through a different perspective.

wanted to peek in and say hi, we finally started getting cooler temps and we got some rain Thursday over 1 1/2 inches very grateful for the respite in the heat.
Funny moment, Hubby asked me if it was time to start xmass shopping, let him know i was almost done. We both laughed....

rain Bigeye I hear of such things....

it rained for maybe four minutes Tuesday evening last week in downtown Austin, hardly enough to make my balcony railing wet. another storm blew by Wednesday, but didn't rain in downtown at all. i do think there was more rain west of us, though, which is good, since that's where the important reservoirs are.

I'm not even sure what I'm doing next week, or thinking about halloween, let alone even contemplating Christmas shopping shake head

I can't believe how quickly this weekend has flown by. definitely way too fast. Monday is going to be rough. at least it was a great Wisconsin sports weekend, play off wins by the Brewers and continued beat downs and great wins by the Badgers and the Packers woot

What's really needed is a good soaking rain. When the ground is as dry and hard as it is after such a long drought, you need a long slow rain so it has time to soak in and charge the aquifer.

I hope they're wrong but it could happen. I don't think Texas will ever recover if the drought lasts much longer. It's going to put a lot of farmers and ranchers out of business. The profit margins are already pretty slim in a decent year.

ML,

I thought this was a very interesting video and while they're talking about controlling Oregon Juniper, the same could apply to the cedar and mesquite of Texas, especially in West Texas. When white settlers moved in we started suppressing the fires, which used to keep these water sucking trees under control. The improvement in water absorption and water flow in the areas where the juniper was cut back or burned out is very dramatic.

And with that, I'm headed to bed. Night ML. Bye
