EEK! well that day flew right on by...

I woke up with my left shoulder really hurting. it's been bugging me on and off for more than a week now since I think I just slept on it wrong. not sure what I did that this morning was so bad. if anything, it probably wasn't good to see the back cracker first thing, I was still pretty stiff, and since then it's been pretty much a nightmare Hide

after the back cracker I went to the UT campus, and was in the audience for a live broadcast of the BBC Radio show "World Have Your Say" which KUT now airs since they split off the music station into KUTX. It was fascinating, and an interesting show format.

I've been home since then, my left arm/shoulder is really bugging me, even with tylenol and iburprofen, I've had trouble finding positions that are comfortable, I went to take a nap and could not find a position at all where I wasn't in pain when I tried to lay down Doh I don't know what I'm going to do tonight Hide I guess I'll wait until I'm nearly exhausted, then try some advil PM to get what I can. maybe I'll have to sleep sitting up on my couch Ermm

Comfort Could be a pinched nerve if you're having some numbness or tingling down the arm. I get that from time to time, and the only thing that helps is to get all the muscles to relax so everything can go back into place. Try soaking in a really hot tub for a long time with your back and neck submerged.

If you can't stand to get down in the tub then run a really hot shower, as hot as you can stand it then after a couple of minutes of standing under it, turn the heat up a bit more. Stay there as long as you can and it will really help those muscles.

While your still in the shower, try very gentle, slow stretches of your arms including crossing them over your chest (one at a time) and slow twists from side to side in order to loosen everything up. On the twists, as you twist to the right, raise your left shoulder as you twist. Then do the same in the opposite direction. That helps to stretch the muscles along your upper back and will do wonders for your back and neck.

no numbness or tingling shake head just feels like I'm stretching the muscles too far for given combinations of arm angle and neck angle Doh

not sure how it got to be this late already, I am exhausted Faint

EEK! that was not a good night shake head fell asleep for maybe 45 minutes a little before 2am, then was awake again, then fell asleep again around 3:30am, then was up just before 9am. fell asleep again around 11, for 90 minutes or so. I've been tired all day, haven't done anything besides try to keep my arm comfortable, along with ice and heat throughout the day Hide

feeling somewhat better than I was at this time yesterday, still not sure if that will translate to regular sleep, though.

I ended up skipping going out with my coworker to watch UFC tonight. I figured if I couldn't find a comfortable place on my own couch, there was no way three hours on the stupid hard chairs at buffalo wild wings was going to work shake head

thank goodness it's not really Sunday night Whee I still don't think I'm going to get any sleep tonight, still hurting pretty good. I should have gone to urgent care, but by the time I looked into it today everything that took my insurance was already closed Mad I'll see how I feel by morning, but I'm predicting more of the same, left elbow hurts like heck, can't find a completely at rest position, can't lay down and get to sleep Mad can't keep that up if I expect to get to work by Tuesday shake head

Comfort

Had a great day yesterday, after a week of feeling rotten. Made the mistake of having steak for dinner last night then had a terrible nights sleep and lots of pain today. Doh

Headed to bed in a few minutes. Bye

I did go to urgent care, not sure how much good it's done. Got a prescription for an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. I've taken both today, and I'm still having the tingling sensation in two of my fingers and I still can't find a comfortable position to sleep in so I've only managed a handful of 30 minute naps, for some reason I just can't sleep any longer than that, I just wake up in pain after 30 minutes Mad

The doctor also wants me to do physical therapy, they're supposed to call my insurance then call me in the morning, and he suggested going to see an orthopedic surgeon depending on how the therapy works out EEK!

frankly, I just want to be able to sleep. four nights of not being able to sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time is starting to take it's toll,I can feel myself nodding off sitting on the couch, but then I go lay down on my bed and I'm awake 30 minutes later anyway Mad

just sent my boss an email, no way I'm going to work tomorrow like this, even if they pain goes down I'm too delerious from the lack of sleep to effective for anything Hide
