About the thermal throttling problem.
I did a lot of tries and finally figured out why this model has under performing results for CPU.
1. It's not the thermal paste's fault. I did the re-application of new thermal paste, and it didn't make any difference when running FurMark CPU Burner. The stagnated temperature is still about 90 Celsius at 3.4Ghz for all four cores. The temperature of the cores only care about the package power consumption.
2. For a lot of benchmark applications, such as cinebench 15, userbenchmark, you need to disable speedstep setting. You can do so using throttlestop.

this is exactly what I have been looking for. too bad I can't drop 1300. even has 8 hour battery life with that big battery and power hungry specs!
Everything other than the lack of "pop" in colors displayed on the screen has been just excellent. Battery life is solid, even with the dedicated GPU in use. Fan noise is not that bad, and when they do come on it's usually brief, unless video editing or gaming then they stay on. It's a pretty dope machine overall, and definitely worth its current $1299 price tag. You literally won't find better specs for the money. I just wish the screen had a bit more punch to take the experience to the next level. Oh and the lack of an SD card slot is a bit of a bummer.
Just increase scaling to 175% and all your icons will come to size. Right Click on your Desktop and select Display Settings where you can adjust the scaling.

There is cheaper version available with 256GB SSD and 1080P Display. So if you don't need 4K, you can look for those. Check Lenovo's Website directly for this and see the available configurations.

I will take a look. 1080 is perfect for me. and that will save battery quite a bit. maybe hit 10 hours battery life

What's special about this is that it pretty much evenly matches the $2000 XPS 15, but also takes it a step further being a 2-in1.

Word of warning though, the panel is 4K, but the colors are muted and unimpressive.

I have the 710 version/generation of this (256/16/940MX)- love the overall design and construction. Screen is beautiful with no bad angles.

From where you got that information? MobileTechreview has just published the review for this Laptop in YouTube and did not mention anything about poor display quality. It may not be at the same league of HP Spectre X360 but not bad at all.

No it does not have that. you have no idea about what you are talking about. You probably had a cheap lenovo laptop with a 720P TN panel and comparing it with their premium most laptops.

Where'd I get that information? The fact that I personally OWN the 4K, GTX 1050 version. And yes, Lisa called out the display for being washed out. She said that even though it ranks well in sRGB/Adobe RGB numbers, the panel itself isn't as punchy as the numbers would lead you to believe, which is my own experience as well.

I may be spoiled though, because I've also been exposed to the XPS 15 and 2016 MacBook Pro displays, which are just far superior but also far more expensive machines.

She reviewed the 1080P version, not the 4K one, and said that it is not as punchy as Spectre 15 x360 since it has a 4K panel.

I am planning to get this model. Since you do have it, can you please share your experience with it? What is the battery life of it with 4K display and when the dedicated GPU is being used.
