Just got off with Sprint CHAT.
Estimated $15 a month for Sprint Surcharges and fees
Estimated $16.50 taxes and additional fees. (they figure taxes on the undiscounted monthly amount...$60 + $40 for 2nd line and then tack on some other things that are not REALLY taxes)
So it goes from Free to $31.50 before any other bogus charges per month. Versus my current $20+$15 for two lines on FI +$10/GB. No additional charge international roaming, and free data-only sims. Currently FI still fits me better. but YMMV of course.
Am i missing something. I thought you cant get a new phone using new Sprint account once you port in from other carrier before Oct 2017, otherwise you loose the free plan option.
I have text now number, but the phones I have currently don't seem to work.
Maybe list the phones in the second post in this thread .... the WIKI part so others can benefit too.
We are at 60 pages , and I was looking through thread and lots of people tried their phones and it didn't work.
Thanks in advance. Would be nice if we could go to walmart/best buy and pick it up today, but I'm sure we want to pick up one that works.
It is still missing band 41.
Check on tello checker.

The only way to know for sure is by looking up exact model number in settings and look up from which provider it came from originally. Unlocked ones will accept SIM card it just won't have service if there's no radio for the CDMA cell towers.
I asked on the Project Fi end and they're not able to un-register the IMEI from the Sprint portion of the FI service alone, so I guess I will just get the port info tomorrow and see how that ends up going with the info you've provided.

I want to move away from T-Mobile. My Nexus 6 active on T-Mobile is "not eligible" per Sprint eligibility page despite listed among the eligible devices. Sprint CS (online chat) said that the phone is not eligible because it was not purchased from T-Mobile.
Now, I have a Pixel XL active on Verizon, which is "eligible" when supplied with my T-Mobile phone number on the Sprint eligibility page.
So, I'm thinking that I could place the order on this deal using the T-Mobile phone number but with Verizon Pixel phone IMEI. Since Verizon Pixel comes naturally unlocked, I'll activate the Sprint SIM with it, then move the SIM to my Nexus 6.
Would that work?
My guess is that if you replace the phone later for any reason like broken/stolen then they may charge activation on new eligible phone, some reference on the FAQ section 4th from the bottom
