Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

He's telling you what he has to say, because according to the terms of switching, you're bringing your phone and number from the approved company. He can't tell you about the loopholes while being recorded. Those calls are 5-10 of his calls are reviewed every shift he works, and they have no idea which they'll be reviewing. They don't know which phone is actually on the account phone number being switched.

But! Like I said before, they do know what company it's being ported from, and they may choose not to honor the deal a month into it. Most of the time they don't tell you, you will just get the bill. Seriously I saw this stuff all the time while working for them not even 5 years ago. I wouldn't put faith in them to ever do the "right thing".
You're scaring me now. Are you saying those of us who switched over from pre-paid accounts might be billed the full amount even if we passed their eligibility check? That's gonna be A LOT of people in this thread.

My Sprint free unlimited plan is officially working! Apparently the hold was from the credit department. I had to talk to them and verify my information, and they told me the # of lines I was approved for, spending limit, etc. Once that was done, they put the order through and now the phone is fully working. It remains to be seen how much the taxes are and if the billing is all right, but the service is working.

I did some speed tests and so far I'm getting faster data at my house than I was on T-Mobile.
what speeds do you get and in what area?

I call that bs. How do they know what phone you're using on different network?
I'm not sure how they know, but the brand new iPhone 7 I just got today was declined. I tried with the IMEI from the 5S that is currently active on my wife's T-Mobile account, and that one was approved. I swapped SIM cards to the iPhone 7 and tried again, and this time it went through. Not sure how they can tell but apparently they can.

Thanks!

I've been reading other posts but can't really figure out how much I will be paying per month in fees/taxes.... (just a ballpark figure... my billing address will be in Chicago)

Thanks again!
Jessica: Your monthly bill will be $0 for unlimited talk, text and data plan and approx $19.44/month for taxes with autopay. If autopay is removed from your account, you will have to pay $5/month per line. this is for 3 lines. Per chat.

Jessica: A standard $1.99 admin fee, $0.40 regulatory fee and other taxes and fees apply.

Ok, Mr. ALL CAPS. Definitely helps prove your point.

All post paid plans require a hard pull. Whether you're paying or not, you're on a post paid plan that will not be free after 12 months. They're still going to do a hard pull.
The Sprint Chat customer support rep said it was a SOFT pull, it's not MY fault if they were WRONG and gave INCORRECT information if it indeed is a HARD pull instead.

Why are you confused? It worked on the iPhone 5s you registered, but not the phone you didn't? When you provide the IMEI you're telling them that phone's particular registered code. You should if anything, had bought the 7 and just registered with that, and provided the phone number from T-Mobile that you wanted to port...

I used the IMEI of a Sprint 5s Locked that has not been used since Christmas with a Verizon number currently in a hotspot. Sprint does not know.

I also used a Moto G4 with a number currently on total wireless currently in a Verizon iphone 7+ which showed up as balance owed on Sprint (no idea on that one) and it worked.

I think the system accepts phones but when it doubt for any reason it declines them, might have better luck once activated.

This makes sense. The last thing they want is people calling in with phones they said would work then won't. When in doubt, any doubt, decline it.
