Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Not a good sign when the initial process is such a mess, but crossing my fingers.
This whole thing seems a little odd. No advertisements. Not even a link from Sprint.com website.

I didn't pull the trigger until I started to see some more sites reporting positively on it.

There are more - just google for "sprint 1 year free" or similar - but these were sources I looked at.

My order when through around 10am eastern time yesterday and got the email saying I will get the SIM today. When I check the status this morning, no tracking number so I guess it did not ship. Anyone here who order yesterday before 2pm ET got a tracking number?

I have a Galaxy S8+ on AT&T postpaid service that is paid off and it says I'm not eligible. Is this tool accurate?

Go to Verizon and get their cheapest plan the 2gb one. Activation fee is 30 bucks but it's refundable if you port out or cancel service within 3 days. All you will be paying then is the prorated monthly charges and taxes for however many days you are with them. 35 for the 2gb plan plus 20 bucks a line access charge. One day of service for one line would be 55 x 0.3 which would be like 2 bucks plus taxes and fees of course. Would be more for more lines and or more days which is why I said like 15 bucks but that's being generous.

After you have service for 1-2 days port out to sprint. You've then satisfied the terms of porting in from postpaid carrier and will be eligible for the promotion.

CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS PRICING AND VERIZON CANCELLATION POLICY OF REFUNDING ACTIVATION FEES AND NO OTHER PENALTIES?

Can I just buy one of the Sprint listed eligible phones for this deal, sign up for Verizon Wireless online with the new phone, then after 2 days port to Sprint for this Free Unlimited deal & Verizon Wireless automatically cancels everything out and refunds all my money except $2 and change?

The below list is from sprint.com offer site with device eligibility. I do not see "Galaxy S8+" but I DO see "Samsung Galaxy S8+ Special Edition". Honestly as an iphone guy I have no idea what the difference is between non-special edition vs. special edition or if they are the same. Maybe a Galaxy S8+ guy/gal may know, but if I'm to assume these are different models your non-special edition may not be eligible.

Jessica: I have checked the details. This plan is designed for postpaid customers only, however, if your phone qualifies for this deal, you will get this deal even if your line is a prepaid line.
Alex Miller: If the system allowed you to have the order placed in this case the offer must have applied to the account.

Yes not all S8+ support CDMA which is what Sprint runs on. So you would need a Verizon S8+ for this to work or a universal unlocked which I believe also has the CDMA bands. Both Tmobile and ATT do not carry CDMA bands, on their S8+. Only phones to my knowledge are the pixel and HTCU11 unlocked from the big names which can do all the big network right now without any issues or missing bands.

This may get a flame or two, but I am so tired of "I had _____ for years before I moved to Verizon in 2014 and they sucked." Here's a news flash, these are not the same networks they were even 2 years ago anymore. I always recommend a 3 step process in the changing carrier game, always...

1) Check with friends and family that may currently have the service (or very recently left) to see what they think - and yes, SD is definitely a good source for that. Did it work where they needed it to and is that the same area you need it to?

2) Check the coverage map at street level. Don't just punch in your street address and look at the map, but zoom in all the way and look at your neighborhood (and those where you will be using the phone) and make sure that you have solid coverage. You'll see many areas that go from "4G LTE GOOD" to "4G LTE FAIR" really fast on many coverage maps. That's not a good sign. It shows inconsistent coverage areas where you will drop calls and have horrible data speeds.

3) Get a prepaid SIM pack and a cheap phone to check out coverage before you commit. For as little as $30 you can get a prepaid Android phone on most carriers. Sometimes they even have a $10 credit on them that you can use to check out coverage and speeds. If not, pony up for a month of service to test them out pretty heavily. Once you do that and you are happy with the way it works, go with it. If you aren't, you are out $50 and can look else where for a deal.

Comparing a network to where it was a few year's back just isn't right. I can say that I happen to live in an area where all 4 majors are pretty good, though I think AT&T is the most consistent, Verizon #2, T-Mobile #3 and Sprint #4. I'd still have an issue going Sprint due to the "street to street" coverage issues, but for a free bill for 12 months, I'd do it. I'm just not sure I want to drop a few hundred bucks on devices to use with the deal.

Had 4 unlocked phones all come back as not eligible -- 2 Nexus 5X, Moto G4 play, Moto G4. Called CS and they said it's because they were on Sprint prepaid MVNO. Said they couldn't do anything and the phones won't qualify. These phones were on Ringplus, then Ting, but now on MintSim (2 of them) and Freedompop GSM SIM (other 2).

I went into my old Ting account -- all 4 phones were listed as inactive but still showing up in the device section. I haven't used Ting in months. I deleted all 4 phones, and now they come up as eligible on the BYOD check on Sprint! So if you were on R+ or Ting, go into your Ting account and delete your phone to get it released.

Now the question is has anyone successfully got an account using a pre-paid phone #? I'd rather not use the MintSim #s because they have many months of service left. My Freedompop #s and google voice #s come up as eligible. Any luck with these for people going all the way through to getting a SIM and activating? Something cheap like an ATT or Tmobile prepaid would be great if it works (FP is a real pain to get port-out info from what I can tell).

You need to message Ting and have them release the phones back into Sprint's system.

The U11 does not have CDMA... It does VoLTE with Verizon, so it is not eligible for entry into Sprint's system. You need the Sprint version of the device - and even that is not on the approved device listing for this deal.

Best way I've found to do it is to take advantage of the SD 15% off Moto site coupon, grab a few Moto G4 Plays or even G5's and move them in. You're looking at a sub $200 price on the G5's and free service for a year. The best part is, you even have time to take them to VZW right now, sign up for service and then move them to Sprint to get the deal. If you have good Sprint coverage in your area, it's a total steal!

I just ordered my sim card. Credit went through and i am using H20 sim with unlocked version of galaxy s7 edge. I think it is worth a bet to get free service from sprint. Even if it does not work out i am willing to risk 1-2 month bill from sprint.

I called my local store (third party vendor) and they had no idea what Promo I was talking about. I'm betting it's online or corporate stores only.
