Have you tried talking to sprint? I have, sprint sucks... someone commented before that sprint valuees their service at $0 and that is a fair valuation.... their support lives up to that valuation more so than their coverage, imo.
I wouldn't give Sprint ANY reason to screw me over. If it's in the fine print *not* to switch devices, then I'm going to stay put for 3-4 months on that phone. It's not the end of the world if that's the scenario. Use your nice iPhone off your other phone's hotspot if it's that big of a deal for you.

My interpretation is $100 for new smartphone line activation meaning new device activation, not BYOD. But it could just mean new customer line activation.
