Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

BOLD move from Sprint. I like it! I would of offer only 6 months but kudos for going one year. We all already know the obvious, their network is horrible AND as a result they can't even get people to TRY their network. However, this is going to help from the standpoint of getting subscribers and MAYBE JUST MAYBE their network will get better and people will stay.

Do you know if unactivated Apple sims work for this deal on newer iPhones? Or are these $5 sims at Best Buy just Sprint sims that are compatible with specific phone models? Tia.
You can try the unactivated sim by calling sprint telesales. If it's a go, you don't lose anything. Best Buy sims are Sprint Network phone specific sims.

STEP-1
Buy ATT BYOD SIM for $10 from walmart
Activte the SIM with $2 daily plan
Call ATT customer service & get account number and PIN

STEP-2
Have your sprint sim & mobile handy
Call sprint rep
Rep will transfer your number and Get your device setup

I did this and in less than 2 hours my free line on sprint got activated
Thanks for the tips, anyway I can do this via online. I heard sprint doesn't have the best customer service and I would like to avoid them if possible.

Anyone had luck with any phones that aren't on this list, or is it hard coded to register those models only?

Wondering if there's any way to make this worth doing if you don't already own one of these phones..

Nope.. once your sim is activated then dial below from your mobile...
*123*YourZIPcode*02#

Replace "YourZIPcode" with actual 5 digit zip code.

This will activate $2 daily plan.

Call ATT rep and he'll add $2 to your account. You need to provide your debit or credit card number to rep. I m not sure of online you can top up your account with $2

After trying to apply online for this deal twice, with my credit as well as my wife's. For both of us the site directed us to call in after entering the info needed for them to run an credit check.

I chatted online and it seems that if your credit score is not "normal" being "750-800" you'll probably have to do this deal over the phone. Which is a big bummer as it's much easier to hand over all the info numbers online.

Both our credits are good so we both thought this was pretty lame, we're still going to call in as it's tough to be free.

once you get the sim active, you should be able to swap to any sprint whitelisted phone, just go online or call and swap ESN/IMEI numbers (and keep the same ICCID (sim) or use an old/new sim of your choice.

Sprint is CDMA and the talk part of the phone uses the phone ESN/IMEI where the data uses the ICCID, you need to pair the ESN and ICCID on your account to have the phone and sim work. If you use an old 3g phone, you will not need an ICCID which is for the LTE (GSM) portion of their service.

tl;dr No, you have to call or go on line and switch your active phone on your line of service. You can not sim swap like with tmobile/att/verizon.

I think Yes, ask a friend who does not have sprint if you can use their IMEI.

use friends IMEI, get sim from sprint/apple store.

activate line

swap phones to whitelisted sprint phone (does not have to be from promo list).

I am not the person you asked.....

since iphone 5, all the sprint sims I have gotten from the apple store have been the same upc. from my understanding, apple store has one sprint sim compatible with all iphones. I suspect this is the same for any store that sells sprint iphones.

I doubt free service offer will be cancelled if you use other than registered non sprint phone. Coz this free service offer is exclusively for non sprint phone. Please Let me know if you/ any of your known ones moved their SIM to sprint phone.
