Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You're correct that calls/txts can work on Hangouts (although Hangouts eventually will be phased out into Google Voice itself). Calls on Hangouts only work if you have WiFi or cell data service. If data service is spotty or non-existent, the GV app allows calling via a gateway number that shows your GV number as the # you're calling from, routing the call via Sprint's cell service.

This is for the case of porting a new prepaid number, instead of porting the same number I now have on GV to Sprint Smilie
I already know that. But if you can make a call with the normal cell service, you can make it with hangouts. The only difference is hangouts voice quality will be way higher than cell. I mean in the end, do what method you wish. Just informing of what is what for best voice quality and what works from experience.

Unable to pass credit check, though have good credit score? Ask me to call? Does calling help the process? Thanks.
Yes, they need to run Manual check. They will even ask questions like I was asked which City I live/share with with my mom and what is age range of my mother. I was approved on phone. Also see if you can Free Sprint BYOD Sim kit from Apple or Best Buy @ 5$, before calling to activate instantly and skip 13$ charge from SIM + Shipping.

funny though, I actually looked at wiki first before posting and it mentioned MVNO works. Not a big deal, I'm still loaded with several free $10 tello buckets from way back.
Non Sprint MVNO's will work ie MVNO's using ATT, TMobile or Verizon.

TLDR Question: Has anyone successfully gotten the incorrect plan switched back to the proper plan?

Here is what happened to me...
1. Signed up on Friday over the phone, definitely the correct plan.
2. Port failed. (T-mobile account I was porting from was already cancelled)
3. Called Porting Dept on Sunday. Told them I had a new T-mobile # I could port.)
Porting Dept. was having problems getting port to go through. She said she would put me on a temporary plan and I could call later to get back on right plan. Ok I thought that doesn't sound bad.
So porting dept. changes the plan, the port goes through and I call customer service to get plan fixed. Spent about an hour waiting on hold. Nobibdy knows how to activate this plan.
Called back the original order # today and am told my request has been escalated and will be fixed, but they can't say when. I'm debating just cancelling and then re-opening the account again. Just don't trust that they need to "escalate" something to get it changed.

Has anyone with the wrong plan been able to get it fixed?

Fortunately this happened to me so you don't have to get condescending comments from SD'ers about this. They told me that it wont change immediately, but by the time I get my first bill it should be changed to the correct plan.

YES

i got a message from sprint asking how was my experience with sprint. i gave them 0 . rep called. after hearing my issues they assured me my plan will be fixed and moved to ayear of free service.
next i got a bill of 55+8 bucks. talked to them on chat.
now i have a $55 adjustment on my account so i need to pay $8 only.

It is a big joke that free for 1 year.
I got the simcard paying 12.95 $ and before activation i see 2 more transaction on my credit card.
The line didn't got activated because my wifes credit approval didnt went through . I am lucky for that because chatting with sales rep says the regulatory fee , admin fee and tax based on georgia it will be 14 usd !!! Such a terrible joke !!
Now i am behind them to get my 12.95 usd sim money . And tell sprint to stop charging my card.
