I signed up online on Thur, entering in my personal info, SSN, DOB, address, credit card #, etc... The SIMS were shipped Friday and arrived Monday (as others have noted - so much for paying for overnight shipping!). I even got three e-mails about my order, my order #, shipping info, etc...
Today, I tried to go to www.sprint.com/activatenow to activate my first phone and the website tells me my info (E-mail address, DOB, and phone number) is incorrect. I then called the number (866)782-8777 from the paper and tried to speak with them about the issues I was having with their website. They asked my for my order number and I gave it to them...they then said they wanted to create an account for me and would need all my personal info again (name, SSN, DOB, etc...)...I told her that I was not comfortable giving it to them as they are not in the USA (they are in the Philippines - not India as someone else has stated over and over). I asked to speak with someone in the USA - she said that they were the only ones I could speak with.
The CSR then tried to contact the credit department...and they wanted to know what my application number was....I'm like, WTF??? Application Number?? I signed up through Sprint, paid with a credit card, had sims shipped to me - there was no "Application Number". They want to pull my credit a 2nd time and set me up again - has anyone else gone through this 2nd credit pull BS?
I'm just trying to activate sims that I have in hand right now.
What a goatrope this company is!
Hopefully this thread will have more stories of others experiences with activation...and not all this BS about trying to sneak in pre-paid phones or all the other scams people are trying to do to get in on this deal.
I'll have to search tomorrow and find a US Phone number to call or go instore - Does anyone have a number to Sprint Corporate to get resolution on 'legitimate" issues?

For assistance with unlocking your device, please call Sprint Account Services by following these easy steps:
Call 1-888-211-4727.
Enter your phone number.
Select option 5.
Select option 5 again.
Select option 2.

Monday through Friday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

My Rep from Philippines was on call with me for 45 minutes, till I walked to Sprint Store (Corporate store is 2 mile near me and I walk in afternoon for exercise, he said he will wait on call rather than let me order SIM online). I think he gets paid per activation or some thing or Sprint needs numbers
But seriously, most people that have a smooth sign up experience won't bother coming back to report on it. Mostly those that have issues come back to try to figure out what to do (or to complain
