Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Why put your telephone number at risk? This can be avoided by using Google Voice.

You leave behind a history of open/closed accounts, but no record of porting in and out.

You can change carriers in seconds, easily create a eligible number to qualify for promotions, and never worry about your number being held hostage/in limbo/etc.

Everyone is wasting their time with the referrals, credit union rewards, etc. They will be denied while you're on the free plan. Once you're on the regular rate, you can try adding them to your account. This is straight from Marci Carris SVP Customer Mgmt.
It was a matter of time before someone was dumb enough to bring their attention to this. Well done.

ported from straight talk. It took me an hour and a half on the phone and had to wait a few days for my Sims to arrive but it worked. Service is decent but definitely slower than what I previously had.

Has anyone successfully swap device online? I tried to swap my Nexus 6 to a Sprint galaxy S4 and getting this message:

That's what I have , GV, for three of my lines.I don't have to worry about the actual phone number.

Even when I accidentally swapped the 2 numbers I ported over with the phones, I just had to switch them in GV.

FYI Sprint can tell if a iPhone is locked via the IMEI and will say it can not be ported. I'm using a friend's phone 6 as a placeholder to get a line to add an older phone and its been locked. It only showed up as being able to bring to Sprint once it was unlocked. I guess I should not be surprised at that but I was.

Is this Best Buy guy a credible guy? Cuz sometimes sprint reps don't even know how to facilitate this deal. I can understand it'll be crazy if they give you a $100 for a free plan. I looked at the referral rules and it says referral are only given to customers with device installments. So I think I'll stop being greedy and enjoy my 5 lines.
I agree, just reporting what what said over there. I applied hoping it will slip through.

My account was not set up correctly..

Not sure if this in the wiki but, I had to purchase a sim and set up the plan via phone. Sure enough, although two agents confirmed that I was on this plan, I called in a third time and asked what plan I was on. The agent straight up said 5L/$90 Freedom Unlimited. Had to be transferred to the "account services" team where the agent had to determine the actual plan name and then switch me over (still on hold now). Will update with results in a few.

DPs
In Louisiana
Switched from TMobile
Purchased Sim from BB (unfortunately the aren't free and cost 10.00. One of the SIMs doesn't even work).

Account services agent advised that documents in their office states this is for web sign ups only. I have now been transferred to another "team" (sounds outsourced back to the Philippines).
Phillipines agent say this requires escalation and time to fix. I am now requesting a supervisor (I actually requested one at the beginning of the call) to terminate services.

They'll tell you it's submitted to back office.. I'm in the same boat. I had a nice long chat today through sprint account and person reassured me that since this is a web only promo "back office" are the only ones who can put promo line on account. If you manage to do this over the phone though make sure you get their name and agent ID so I can call them too. Smilie I even tried canceling the line that failed originally (I sold phone anyway) and then signing up for another line using a new phone and it's on the 2gb $45 plan too although rep assured me that it would be fixed in 24-48 hrs.

Then this morning I see a charge for $70 for line I canceled yesterday... chat rep this AM reassured me though since this line was canceled that it would be refunded <14 days and this is before due date, so I'm not gonna worry about it... really just want to get the right plan on the account, cuz once that is done I should be able to add my extra 3 lines... not going to do it though till my account shows the right plan. Their "back office" is probably pretty busy with this plan. laugh out loud
