Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

How does the total cost work when you have more lines in the same account? Say, if your total bill for 1 line is $5, would 2 lines be $10 and 3 lines be $15...? Or would the incremental total cost decreases as the number of lines increases?
3 lines.... Sprint surcharges $7.17, taxes and fees $3.39, total $10.56. Chicago suburbs.

I didn't ask for your opinion. I am sharing my data point for others in this area.
And I am entitled to my opinion whether you like it or not this is a public forum LMAO

I am also pointing up data point that

1. People should check the data speed before joining
2. You can always go back to your old carrier if you don't like Sprint.

Interesting day. I started off thinking I had signed up on the website. It certainly looked like it when I was checking the number, etc. Finally, not having received an email confirmation, I called the number for this offer.

Very nice Filipina lady checked and said I had not signed up, so we did that. My concern was that I was using a Google Voice number. When asked who my current provider was, I told them it was Google Voice. I had no problem getting them to accept it. She said I should go to a Sprint store to get a SIM, and she'd call me back to finish setting up the account. She did require me to get the device insurance to complete the activation.

I first went to Best Buy, as I had read here that they sometimes just handed out the SIMs without charging. Very nice sales person said that they had tried that, but their SIMs would not work in an already unlocked phone, and that's what I had. She suggested I go to the Sprint store, which was luckily very close. Very nice young man there looked up what SIM was required for my phone, and handed it to me. No charge.

The original CSR called me back and completed sign up.

I tried cycling the phone to get it to auto activate, like she suggested, but without success. Finally, I called back and got another very nice Filipina lady. I say Filipina only to say that they're not USA based. She fixed whatever problem was preventing me from activating, and the phone did it's own activation after that. I received a call on it and made an outgoing call without problem. I checked to make sure data was working also.

Later, I tried to send a text message to my new Sprint phone. No text received. I searched online for help, and tried to create a MySprint account to look for help. When I tried to input my WORKING phone's number, the system kept telling me that number wasn't activated or had been disabled. I finally got my text working by SENDING a text. After that, texting worked both ways.

Now the problem was that my number wasn't recognized by the website as activated. Called, and picked device support, technical issues at the menu prompts. The rep told me to call customer care. I told him that's who I thought I was talking to. Not the right customer care, it appears. He suggested I call back and when the menu recitation started, begin tapping zero. It worked. Nice young lady assisted me, finally telling me to give the system time to recognize my number. While online with her, I tried the website, and the number was now recognized. The worst part about this call was the interminable wait to get to the CSR, and listening to a Sprint commercial loop done in that fake, Disney World happy voice. Over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and.....

That CSR cancelled the insurance for me.

So now, everything worked. The next step was to transfer the service off my NEW Samsung S8+ to an older, almost new condition Sprint Samsung Note 3. Now the system recognized my phone number, so I could get into that section of MySprint. Only, it wouldn't allow me to switch service to the Note 3. Now I will have to hoof it to a Sprint Store to see if I can get some help in switching devices.

Takeaway from all this, everyone I talked to was very nice, friendly and helpful. Persistence paid off. Almost all the way. Tomorrow, I'll try to finish up with the Sprint Store personnel.

Good luck. I hope this article (too long to call a post) can be of help to some of you.

How long does transferring the number from Verizon to Sprint take? Clicked Finish like 5 minutes ago and it's still "loading" or "working" or whatever with those bars.

With AutoPay, you don't have to pay for the $5/mo per line service fee. You only pay for the surcharges, taxes, etc. that increase with the number of lines.

Should be relatively fast, 15 minutes or less, because Verizon number is a true wireless number. Call 888-876-8381 to complete the port if it's not completed after 30 minutes.

Ugh, stupid website approved the IMEI number of the ipad, but when I went to set it up, refused it. Chargeback is happening for that SIM. Annoyed.

Happy ending is always good news Big Grin

It takes a while after your new account is set up for your phone to appear on your account. After that, go to MySpint > Devices > Manage My Device and swap the phone. You may also notice that your phone has different name/model as appeared on your account. If online swap fails, you can always call/chat with Sprint rep to swap.

Chat has to be available. So far, it isn't. The website says there will be a chat icon on the right side of your browser screen if it's available. I think it's slammed from everyone chatting them up about this offer.

So I ported three lines over from Verizon here in Houston and the data spped for Sprint is AWFUL. I mean I thought it was a joke. Called Sprint tech support and they initiated the carrier settings update, and still terrible data speed. I'm talking being downtown Houston and Speedtest won't even initiate the test. I know it's free but I can't deal...not sure where I'm moving these lines to next.
I get one to two signal bars on the memorial..data speeds varying drastically..will check in downtown tomorrow..

A standard $1.99 admin fee, $0.40 regulatory fee and other taxes and fees apply.
This is per line. So 3 lines would be 7.17. Then add taxes. For my 3 lines the taxes were 1.82

Thanks... so, if there are 2 lines, the total cost (i.e. fees + tax) for the 2 lines together should be exactly the same if you put 2 lines in the same account or if you put them in 2 separate accounts?

Option 1: 2 lines in the same account
Cost: A = ($1.99 + $0.40) x 2 + tax

Option 2: 2 accounts, 1 line per account
Cost: B = $1.99 + $0.40 + tax
Cost: C = $1.99 + $0.40 + tax

So, A = B + C

correct?

Anybody having issues getting the XT1607 Moto G4 Play to work? I am getting the message that it will not work, but it definitely should.
