I called Sprint last Tuesday and they said my phone was eligible (I gave them the IMEI number and my phone number) and I paid for a SIM to be sent. On Friday I tried to activate and the trouble started. The initial rep all but called me a liar about my phone not being lost/stolen, and when I asked how do I return the SIM I paid for, she said she didn't know. She said I should call Tmobile as they would have been the ones to report it lost/stolen. When I called them, they said if it was lost/stolen, you couldn't call us from the phone. So then I call Apple, and they say they show no issues, the phone showed as operating on Tmobile's network.
I contacted Sprint on twitter, they said someone will contact me who can help and I got a script reader with a thick accent who did not understand at all and kept telling me what I had to do to unlock my iPhone (which is already unlocked). So I got her supervisor who transferred me to a Sprint office in Oklahoma. This guy was nice and said I just needed to go into a store and they could help me, gave me his email address in case I had any problems.
So I went into the store, and they couldn't do anything, he said my phone showed it was compatible but the code it returned was for a lost/stolen phone. He checked the model number of my iPhone and said it was the same model they sell in the Sprint store. He called two other offices and they couldn't help, so he figured out a way to refund me for my SIM card and I have given up.
Nice job by Sprint marketing coming up with a program, horrible job by the technical people to deliver. I would never have chased this so hard if it wasn't such a good deal. Makes me wonder how many people will be like me, trying to become a Sprint customer, but turned off on Sprint forever due to their inability to deliver.

FYI, My phone was on r+ and tello before porting.
Just be more patient, they will resolve it for you. Good thing about the sprint rep is no need to wait on the phone for 30 min before taking to someone.

Why this BYOD promo? Maybe just to counter subscriber losses and make a better showing in the short term. Again JMHO.
