For this reason, I won't flip flags on SPP, Virgin or Boost devices and give people false hope that they can be activated on Sprint postpaid. These devices can and will be activated on all sorts of MVNOs. I also had a FreedomPop customer contact me earlier about an IMEI. When I told them it was a Boost phone, they remarked they had bought it directly from FP.
This makes sense, as most Boost-SKU'ed devices would work just fine on the FreedomPop side of the network. It was really popular a few years ago to check Boost phones like the Sharp Aquos Crystal against Ting's BYOD checker because the MEID was on the box and you could check it before you bought it at Best Buy.
BUT, AFAIK from reading this thread, a port from Ting CDMA won't qualify for the free service, as it's already technically a Sprint number. This is a big YMMV, and I'm sure someone will come along and tell me I'm wrong, but this is what I gather from the collective knowledge in this thread.
You can always buy them from Best Buy, or get Sprint's international team to send them (sprint.com/chat), but it should be way easier than that.
If you absolutely cannot find one anywhere else, I'd humbly recommend http://ting.com/shop once you know what CDMA SIM card you actually need. SIM cards on Sprint and MVNOs are reusable and device-specific. Yes, we charge $9 for them but they're going to work on Sprint or any Sprint-based MVNO except Fi.
If anyone needs to know what CDMA SIM card they need, I've got that covered, too. https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card
Bought two Sims as well from a store.
My coverage and call quality have been excellent as well.
Service issues are largely a regional thing. If your area doesn't get decent coverage or you travel frequently don't do it.
Happy motoring

Regarding the SIM purchase last week: Walked in, explained we are purchasing BYOD online deal and needed to purchase two Sims. She cheerfully complied.
A few days before that I walked into a different store to see about Wi-Fi calling issue on my newly activated Note 5. That rep made a call to Sprint and got it activated for me. Pleasant as could be. He also knew I was on the BYOD plan because I told him.
Surely people have problems with Sprint. Just saying not everyone does

Since the promo was been extended if you can wait I would just order the sim from tele sales or check a bestbuy mobile store.
