Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I would like to start using this service from 7/31 or 8/1. Should I order the SIM in advance then wait or wait first then order the SIM later couple of days in advance? What's the ideal date to activate with considering the downtime for porting and such?
What carrier are you on?

So apparently YMMV on pricing depending on the Best Buy - more BB wackiness.

How long does it take the credit union thing to verify your credit union? It must've been a week now and no response back. Can't do the Sprint thing yet.

1 of GSM MVNOs.

If the phone is an unlocked Virgin Mobile phone, then can I bypass the unpaid balance error by using IMEI of some old unlocked GSM phone? The unlocked VM phone never had service with VM or Sprint in the past but it shows the error.

The MVNOs can take longer to complete a port. You would have to research your particular MVNO to see how long it takes.

That may very well be a problem. Sprint has the FED such that SPP/VM/Boost and Sprint MVNO phones can't be on Sprint postpaid until their FED is met. If you used an ebay unlocker, they only SIM unlock for other carriers, they don't change the FED.

That could be a problem, you can type in the IMEI to see if it is eligible. If you paid an ebay unlocker, I don't think it will pass the FED. The only way to pass the FED is to actually use the device on the service it is locked to for the period of time required or pay (bribe) a Sprint employee with access to the DMD to change the FED.

However, prior to I think it was March 2015, if the phone were purchased prior to then and you never activated on VM, the phone would pass the FED.

That's why I thought of using MEID of an old non-Sprint phone when I place the order. After the SIM arrives, if I insert it to FED-failed Sprint/VM phone, will it work? In other words, if I use eligible MEID when I place the order then insert the SIM to ineligible phone after it's delivered, will it work?

Mine worked fine porting from Total Wireless a few weeks ago. Just had to call Sprint and they actually called TW and did the port stuff for me. No problems, no need to try and be sneaky.

Of course not. This is Sprint, not a GSM carrier. If SIM swaps would work to defeat the FED, the FED would be meaningless.

You need to read up on how Sprint works, you think Sprint works like GSM carriers or Verizon, they don't. You can't do simple SIM swaps on Sprint.

If a VM phone won't pass the FED, you cannot use it on Sprint postpaid. No exceptions.

To further clarify, Sprint has a Device Management Database that pairs every SIM card to the IMEI of the device it was activated in. If you put a SIM card in a new device, the SIM card will not be able to authenticate to the Sprint network unless you log online and reassociate the SIM card with the new device. And in order to be able to do that, the new phone must pass the FED and the SIM card must be the proper type for the new phone. Otherwise, it won't work.

Sprint is nothing at all like GSM carriers or even like Verizon.
